NICK MASON’S SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS is now in full swing with its latest report. The best live set that will be the first highlight performance is now available. The highlight performance is “March 16, 2019 Los Angeles performance”. This is a 4-disc set containing two of the best audience recordings. We have already introduced the first report of the latest North American tour, and this week, in addition to this work, three songs will be released simultaneously: “SAN FRANCISCO 2019” and “LOS ANGELES 2019 2ND NIGHT”. First, let’s organize your collection by currently ongoing tour dates. ・March 12th “VANCOUVER 2019” ・March 13th “SEATTLE 2019” ・March 15th “SAN FRANCISCO 2019” ・March 16th: Los Angeles [This work] ・March 17th “LOS ANGELES 2019 2ND・March 19th: Phoenix ・March 21st: Denver ・March 24th: Dallas ・March 25th: Houston ・March 27th – April 22nd: North America (19 performances) ・April 29th Sunday – May 4th: UK (5 performances) July 3rd – 27th: Europe (14 performances) This is the 2019 schedule announced so far. Only the shows that have been completed to date have been described in detail. Among these, the Los Angeles performance was the same venue performance for two consecutive nights. Looking back at the European tour so far, the secret gig in London is the only consecutive performance at the same venue, and it is the first in the world after starting in earnest. Looking at the schedule after this, you can see that it is only scheduled for three cities: Los Angeles, New York, and London, and it is definitely set as a highlight. This work, which records the first day in Los Angeles, is a luxurious set of 2 sound sources. In fact, since SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS is a project that is gaining attention day by day, it is not uncommon for multiple recordings to appear at the same show. At our store, we do not introduce all of them without a single page, but carefully examine each one one by one. We have carefully selected only the best and made it into an album. However, the two sound sources of this work are hard to compare, and it is difficult to decide which is the best. Therefore, rather than narrowing down the selection using logic, we decided to introduce two sound sources at once. In fact, both are excellent. In particular, “RECORDER 1 (Disc 1-2)” is so wonderful that it even comes close to the masterpiece “SAN FRANCISCO 2019” released at the same time. The extremely thick core, the detailed details, the direct feeling that doesn’t make you feel the distance, the beautiful sense of separation, the illusion of a slight hall sound…I can’t complain about any of them. If you’re going to try your best to find a match, it’s a little less than “SAN FRANCISCO 2019″ in terms of the beauty of the sound and the (slightly) relatively close cheering. It is not enough to be a point deduction or a complaint, but it is still a superb live album without any complaints. That should be it. In fact, this recording was done by the same recording artist as “SAN FRANCISCO 2019”. He is “Daspyknows” who quickly gained attention with DESERT TRIP in 2016. Last year, he showed off his professionalism with the Hyde Park recordings of Roger Waters and Steve Winwood, but this work is also the latest work of such a master who represents the modern era. And “RECORDER 2 (Disc 3-4)” is also amazing. This is also a recording by “Scooter123” who made a name for himself with the Stones recording of DESERT TRIP in 2016. Although the tone differs due to the difference in position, the extremely thick core and detailed details are still overwhelming. I feel that “RECORDER 1” is slightly superior in terms of balance and direct feeling, but there is almost no up-close cheering here. These are great recordings that you can’t decide whether they are better or worse even if you listen back to them, and it is a superb set where the world’s masters compete at the same show. The highlight performance is a passionate performance that is depicted with these two types of exquisite sounds. After entering the North American tour, new material “Remember A Day” and “Childhood’s End” were added, making it the largest volume in history, but the composition has solidified and reached the stage of completion. In fact, these two songs were played from the first day in Vancouver, but the order of the songs was different. In particular, “Childhood’s End” was played in the encore, but due to equipment trouble on the second day (?) it was suddenly moved to the middle. “Point Me At The Sky”, which was once cut, was revived as an encore. The composition was decided on the 3rd performance in San Francisco, and has remained the same ever since. In other words, the set was completed the day before after much trial and error aiming for this Los Angeles 2 DAYS. This work was a big stage with all possible precautions. And that spirit is reflected in their performance. SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS is basically stable, but the ensemble in this work has a familiar feel that has been prepared over and over again, and yet it has not reached the level of familiarity. It is a show that combines the fresh feeling felt at the beginning of the European tour and the confidence that was full of the late European tour. SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS’ North American tour is being carried out on a larger scale than last year’s highly acclaimed European tour. This is a superb set that vacuum-packs the first highlight performance with two of the finest sound sources. This is a masterpiece with a larger volume than Europe, complete with a powerful performance.
