Description

NEW ORDER in 1985, which also made its legendary first visit to Japan. A super realistic sound board that allows you to enjoy the stage immediately after coming to Japan has been decided to be released. This work includes “Perth performance on May 15, 1985”. This is the leaked soundboard recording. First, let’s explore the show’s position from the 1985 tour schedule, including the legendary first visit to Japan.・January 26th – February 6th: UK #1 (5 performances) ・March 14th – April 19th: UK #2 (6 performances) ・April 26th – May 4th: Asia (5 performances) Performances)《“LOW-LIFE” released on May 13th》・May 15th-23rd: Oceania (5 performances)←★Coco★・June 14th-July 20th: UK #3 (3 performances)・August 1-23: North America (14 performances) ・October 22-December 7: UK #4 (9 performances) ・December 10-17: Europe (6 performances) This is 1985 NEW ORDER. Their first visit to Japan was realized in early May, and “LOW-LIFE” was released after that. The Perth performance of this work was the first day of the “Oceania” leg that took place immediately after. In other words, it was the “next” stage of their first visit to Japan, and the first concert after the release of “LOW-LIFE”. This work recorded at such a show is a fiercely realistic soundboard. This is a soundboard master discovered in recent years, and is a recording directly connected to the mix desk that is completely different from official works or radio broadcasts. For that reason, the mix is for the on-site PA, and there is no sense of preparation that is typical of the work. It’s the kind of place where you can only hear the faint cheers in the distance, and the live music is just to the core. Of course, this sound is super delicious for sound board enthusiasts. The rawness far exceeds that of the official work, and the sense of synchronization where the performance and brain perfectly match is amazing. Bernard Sumner’s vocals are so vivid that even the sound of “boo” comes from the breathing into the microphone. The show drawn with such a sound is also reminiscent of 1985. First, let’s organize the set here. ●POWER, CORRUPTION & LIES (2 songs)・Age Of Consent, 5 8 6 ●LOW-LIFE (4 songs)・Sunrise, Sooner Than You Think, Sub-culture, The Perfect Kiss ●Other (5 songs)・Single songs : Temptation, Confusion・Chosen Time (MOVEMENT), Hurt (1981-1982), As It Is When It Was (BROTHERHOOD)… and so on. Although it was just after the release of “LOW-LIFE”, they had been playing new songs before that, so the basics were the same as the Japanese performance. “As It Is When It Was”, which was later included in “BROTHERHOOD”, is also played. And the performance that spins such a set is powerful. Anyway, it’s amazing because it’s more vivid than the sound directly connected to the desk. Although it has been about 10 days since he left Japan, the sound is rough, as if he hadn’t tuned in even once during that time, as if it were a public rehearsal. Although they are not plagued by equipment troubles like in the Japanese performance and the show does not stagnate, the playing and singing are rough. It’s full of suspicion from the beginning, but especially on “Chosen Time”, Gillian Gilbert completely misses the note, but still plays it with great vigor without changing it. To be honest, it’s far from a great performance, but it’s amazing because it strangely suits him (bitter smile). Even though it was rough, it didn’t mean he lacked motivation; in fact, his momentum and rhythm were good. Even in the collapsing “Chosen Time”, Bernard also gives up on the explosive backing with a feeling of “this is no good”, but he is clearly enjoying the bad feeling and sings while bursting out involuntarily. NEW ORDER left many legends behind in their first visit to Japan, and their momentum (?) did not diminish even after leaving Japan. Even when they went to Australia, they put on a lively, rough, but thoroughly enjoyable show. This work is a live album where you can experience such a “continuation of the first visit to Japan” on a super real soundboard. We have introduced super-excellent and super-realistic masterpieces such as “TOKYO 1985” and “CLUB-D 1985,” but this work is perfect as a “sequel” to enjoy the afterglow of those albums. This is a high-quality large-scale album that you should definitely enjoy together. Live at Canterbury Court, Perth, Australia 15th May 1985 SBD(61:49) 01. Sunrise 02. Sooner Than You Think 03.
