In 1985, NEW ORDER’s “LOW-LIFE” became a hit in the US and began to have a worldwide presence. Here is a soundboard album that will let you hear the live performance in your brain. This work was recorded at the “August 20, 1985 Auckland performance”. This is a stereo soundboard recording. Speaking of 1985, the legendary first visit to Japan was also a memorable one. First, let’s take a look at the overview of the activities at that time and get closer to the position of this work. 1985 January 26th – April 19th: UK #1 (11 performances) April 26th – May 4th: Asia (5 performances) ←※ TOKYO 1985 and others “LOW-LIFE” released on May 13th May 15th – 23rd: Oceania (5 performances) ←※ PERTH 1985 June 14-July 20: UK #2 (3 shows) August 1-23: North America #1 (14 shows) ←★Here★ October 22-December 17: Europe #1 (15 shows) 1986 January 21-March 29: UK #3 (13 shows) June 14-September 13: Europe #2 (9 shows) “BROTHERHOOD” released on September 29 October 2-13: UK #4 (5 shows) October 29-December 15: North America #2 (31 shows) This is the NEW ORDER of 1985/1986. They toured not only Japan but also Europe and Oceania, literally touring the world. The Auckland performance of this work took place about four months after their first visit to Japan. It was the 12th concert of “North America #1”. Such shows are also known for the fact that the highest quality sound boards were left behind, and have become a standard representative of the “LOW-LIFE” era. This work is the highest peak master of such sound boards. It is a famous product that has been precisely converted to CD from the best masters provided by overseas researchers. In fact, the sound is unquestionably “completely official class”. The balance of the cheers whispering far and wide is clearly a direct connection to the mix table, while the essential performance sound is extremely beautiful and fiercely vivid. It boasts a delicacy that makes you feel the vibration of each guitar string and the angle of the pick, and the sense of separation that does not mix even when all the instruments overlap is intense. It is a sense of synchronization that even attacks the illusion that the brain itself has become a mix table. Such a high-class immersive sound depicts a stage where the band potential that produced the masterpiece “LOW-LIFE” bleeds and overflows. Although this work is a single piece, it is full of listening response for about 80 minutes, and there is plenty of repertoire because of that time. Let’s check out such a special set. Low Life (4 songs) Love Vigilantes / Sunrise (★) / Sooner Than You Think (★) / The Perfect Kiss Others (9 songs) Aesthetics of Power: Your Silent Face / 5 8 6 / The Village (★) / Age Of Consent Others: Confusion / As It Is When It Was / Ceremony / Blue Monday / Sister Ray (★) *Note: The ★ mark indicates songs exclusive to the 80s. …And so it goes. Four songs each from the two great albums “POWER, CORRUPTION & LIES” and “LOW-LIFE” were selected and concentrated and reduced. The style is sprinkled with early singles. Among the many masterpieces such as “Sooner Than You Think” and “The Village” that can no longer be found after the restart, “Sister Ray” is particularly catchy. This is a cover of THE VELVET UNDERGROUND, a rare song that was only confirmed at a limited venue at the time. In this work, it was performed at the end of the encore, and it was a great performance that gave energy for more than 8 minutes. It is the biggest highlight of this work. NEW ORDER ran through the 80s while producing many famous songs and masterpieces. Although the commercial peak is a little later, the peak of the band’s momentum and creativity was probably in 1985. What comes out of this work is a great performance that you can’t help but think so. A pleasure that pours the potential of NEW ORDER, who is in season, into your brain with a close-up sound board. Stereo sound board recording of “August 20, 1985 Auckland performance”. The best master provided by an overseas researcher is a “completely official class” without question.
