Description

After Badfinger broke up, Joey Molland approached Mark Clarke, ex-Uriah Heep, and then ex-Humble Pie members Jerry Scharley (drums) and Peter Wood (keyboards) joined. Natural Gas, which was called a supergroup at the time, attracted a lot of attention at the time, but released only one studio album and then broke up. From their only US tour in 1976, a live performance at Cobo Hall in Detroit on August 17th was recorded with good audience quality for the time. It is a miracle that such live recordings remain, and the album released in the same year was produced by Felix Pappalardi, known for Cream, and presented a hard pop sound conscious of the American market, while the live performance also took a power pop approach directly from Badfinger. 01.
