The live performance at Zepp Nagoya on September 25th, the third performance from the 2017 “DEFYING GRAVITY JAPAN TOUR”, was recorded completely over 129 minutes with a digital audience recording from the front row. The direct sound from the PA was at a level that made it seem like a soundboard at first listen, and the unique attack sound of Billy’s bass was particularly clear. The set was also well-balanced, with the first three albums + “WHAT IF” + “DEFYING GRAVITY” as the basis for this performance. In particular, four songs were performed from “DEFYING GRAVITY”, of which “Defying Gravity” and “Damn I’m In Love Again” have never been performed overseas, so be sure to check them out here in Japan for the first time. And of course Pat Torpey, who is a concern, was also there, and it was great to see him not only singing chorus and percussion, but also playing drums and even taking lead vocals, participating in 14 of the 21 songs. In the final new song, “Defying Gravity,” the elephant from the album cover appears midway through the song, and the elephant’s roar and the cheers of the delighted audience are both recorded on full screen, making this a must-have commemorative item exclusive to their Japan tour for fans.
