Morrissey/Miyagi,Japan 2012

This is Morrissey’s fourth visit to Japan, his first in 10 years since Summer Sonic in 2002, and his first solo performance in 17 years since 1995. And perhaps because the audience was small, the atmosphere was homey, and Morrissey was in a good mood from start to finish, joking around in response to the cheers of the audience and handing the microphone to the audience. Then, for the encore, after the MC “No matter where you go, no matter what happens, don’t forget me,” he played The Smiths’ classic “There Is A Light That Never Goes Out.” This song is rare, as it was only performed at this Sendai concert and Hiroshima.
