Description
This new release features a live performance from Jonathan Richman’s early days at Harvard University in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1971, featuring four previously unreleased tracks, all of which have been remastered with state-of-the-art AI demixing to deliver crystal-clear sound. Formed in 1970 by Jonathan Richman and future Talking Heads member Jerry Harrison, the Modern Lovers recorded their first live show at Harvard University in Boston, Massachusetts in 1971. This recording, originally recorded on a premium mono soundboard, was previously included in parts on “Live at the Longbranch (and More)” and “Precise Modern Lovers Order.” The tracks have been separated, rebalanced, demixed, and remastered using state-of-the-art AI tools. Additionally, four previously unreleased tracks were demixed using the latest AI tools due to the deterioration of the original masters, and the pitch deviations caused by the masters were carefully corrected and remastered. While the original masters date this recording to 1971-72, it is believed to be a live performance held around spring 1971, as John Felice left the band in early summer 1971 to form his own band.
