This nearly complete recording of the June 3rd Atlanta Jazz Festival performance during the 1989 North American tour was recently released by Taper, and has been remastered in 2025. While this previously unreleased recording is somewhat disturbing due to the outdoor festival, the recording has been upgraded with noise reduction and balance adjustments, eliminating long gaps between songs to recreate the performance as it happened. The lineup and set composition differ slightly from their subsequent Euro tour, and the title track from that year’s classic “TUTU” album, “MR. PASTORIUS,” and other tracks are included in the set. Incidentally, there was a brief altercation with security during the opening track, “IN A SILENT WAY,” that day.
