Description

In 1987, Mick Jagger was trying to deepen his collaboration with Jeff Beck before his first solo tour. A superb soundboard album that will tell you about the rehearsal scene is to be released. This work contains a studio rehearsal that took place in New York in September 1987. This is a stereo soundboard recording. Mick and Jeff also performed together on “PRIMITIVE COOL” following “SHE’S THE BOSS”. They also performed live for the PV shoot, but Jeff did not participate in the Japan/Oceania tour the following year. He was replaced by Joe Satriani. In that context, when was this work recorded? Let’s organize it chronologically. 1987 {May “PRIMITIVE COOL” completed → released on September 14th} September: Rehearsal ←★This work★ October 20th “LIVE AT COUNTRY CLUB 1987 (LA performance)” 1988 January 20th: Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Ceremony March 15th-28th: Japan (8 performances) August 11th: Nicasio performance August 17th: Rotterdam performance September 17th-October 23rd: Australia (18 performances) October 30th: Jakarta performance November 3rd + 5th: New Zealand (2 performances) This is Mick in 1987/1988. The album “PRIMITIVE COOL” was completed in May 1987 and released in September. The special performance accompanying the PV shooting is also a soundboard album “LIVE AT COUNTRY CLUB 1987”, but the rehearsal for this work is thought to have been about a month before. This work, recorded at such a site, is a superb stereo soundboard. “LIVE AT COUNTRY CLUB 1987” was also an official-class soundboard, but this work is no less impressive. The completely direct super-close sound is incomparable to any other soundboard, and the stereo feeling of the fierce panning is also tremendous. If the guitar is at the level of the vibration of the strings, the vocals can be felt even as the breath passing through the microphone net, and the glossiness without any dubbing marks is undoubtedly master quality. And the content is also shocking. Although it is a short soundboard of about 23 minutes, the three tracks recorded are particularly dense. There are two unreleased songs, “Danger Up Ahead” and “Gangster’s Moll”, and a blues jam, none of which could be heard on “LIVE AT COUNTRY CLUB 1987”. “Danger Up Ahead” is a treasure that is said to be the only unreleased song from Mick’s early solo work, and “Gangster’s Moll” is an outtake from the Stones. The latter has different lyrics compared to the demo version of “EMOTIONAL RESCUE”, and above all, the difference in the personalities of Keith and Jeff is strong. And when Jeff explodes, it’s a blues jam. Although there is a little singing at the end, the basic performance is an instrumental. However, even in the instrumental, Mick is not absent, and he plays a dynamic harp blow, and Jeff’s mischievous guitar is involved. The unreleased songs are interesting, but because it is an improvised jam, the musical sense and chemistry of the charisma are exposed. The more deeply the personalities of both men are engraved in your heart, the more thrilling the blissful 10 minutes you can experience. Mick Jagger and Jeff Beck, whose way of life is also the history of British rock. This is a treasured soundboard album where the studio scene where the talents of these two charismatic people intersect spreads in your mind. This is a piece where you can enjoy precious unreleased songs and jams in completely official quality. A rehearsal album featuring Mick and Jeff has been released. You can enjoy unreleased songs “Danger Up Ahead” and “Gangster’s Moll” as well as blues jams on a completely official, superb soundboard. New York City, NY, USA September 1987 STEREO SBD (22:32) 1.
