Description

From the label that continues to overwhelm all hard rock and heavy metal fans, the release of the masterpiece live recording of the Michael Schenker Group has been decided! From the Japan tour in January 1984 accompanying the release of “BUILT TO DESTROY”, which was Michael’s third visit to Japan in total, the live performance at Shibuya Public Hall in Tokyo on January 21, which was the eighth performance, will be revived with a super high-quality audience recording using the Miracle Man recording master, which is of course the first to appear! From this January ’84 Japan tour, various excellent items are known, including “THE MOVING ELEMENT”, which contains the superb live recording of the Nippon Budokan performance on January 23, which was the second live performance in Tokyo, and “SYSTEMS NEVER FAILING” (Langley), which recorded the Nagoya City Public Hall performance on the final day on January 27 with a sound board leaked by related parties. In addition to the titles that allow you to listen to these performances with superb sound, the documentary title “CONCERT TO DESTROY” was released recently, which vividly recorded the first day’s performance at Yokohama Cultural Gymnasium, and the details of the tour and the live performance are becoming known. The Shibuya performance that appears this time was also previously released by Shades label as a coupling title with the Budokan performance on the 23rd, “DESTROYED CAPITAL”, and the excellent sound quality delighted many Schenker fans. This work is a decisive one that will drive a new wedge into the “BUILT TO DESTROY” Japan tour! Miracle Man has surprised fans with many wonderful recordings so far. Of course, the superb recording is still alive and well in this recording, and we will cut into Michael’s ’84 tour, which was full of talented people, from a new perspective! The sound source recorded on the same day in the previously released title “DESTROYED CAPIAL” mentioned above is characterized by a sound recorded with a thick tone, and the moderately dense band ensemble and rich realism reproduced the live performance with great power (especially as heard in “Captain Nemo” etc., the realism of the guitar is still well-known). The main sound source that will be released this time has a power superior to that of the previous release, while being an amazing audience source that further promotes the brightness, separation and clarity of the musical tones! The clarity of the keyboard played in the opening intro and the realistic power of the exploding pyro will overwhelm any listener before the full-scale performance begins (especially the incredible sound quality that can be heard from the middle stage onwards is so powerful that it even surpasses the masterpiece “THE MOVING ELEMENT”)! “Captain Nemo”, where Michael appears and announces the grand opening of the live performance, is an excellent sound that easily surpasses the excellent previous releases. The melodic guitar sound, without any loss of sharp tone, is sure to make you fall in love with it. The catchy groove of “Rock My Nights Away”, where Gary Barden sings vigorously, gets the fans excited. The well-captured handclaps give you a good taste of the excellent live recording. The sharp guitar sound is also active in the following “Are You Ready To Rock” and “Attack Of The Mad Axeman”, with riffs, backing and solos without a break. “Cry For The Nations” and “On And On”, which have both delicate and sharp sides, depict Michael’s charm with the most vivid and colorful (the audience’s chorus on these songs is also wonderful)! A full year has passed since the 1983 “ASSAULT ATTACK” tour, when the lineup was decided, and the band’s stability has been strengthened and the ensemble has finally matured. The unity of the performance unfolding in the above-mentioned “Attack Of The Mad Axeman” and the live highlight “Into The Arena” is simply amazing. Michael plays a tightly unified performance without any misalignment, making the guitar solo scenes even more dramatic. Not only the hot and hard rock numbers, but also the heavy and grandiose “Lost Horizons” and the sentimental “Rock Will Never Die” amplify the world of the songs and give the listener a deep impression. The first half of disc 2, which features a series of masterpieces from “BUILT TO DESTROY”, is undoubtedly the best part of this work. “I’m Gonna Make You Mine” is a song with a sense of tension and a good sense of sadness, and “Systems Failing” has a pop feeling in its hard edge, and both the melody and solo are excellent. “Still Love That Little Devil” has the audience excited by Ted McKenna’s powerful drums that explode in the intro, and the thrilling song development will make you sweat. The listener will feel like one of the audience and will be intoxicated by Michael and the band’s performance. “Rock Bottom” was hit by unexpected trouble at the first day’s Yokohama performance, but on this day, you can enjoy a wonderful performance for 9 minutes from the beginning to the end. In the long solo of this song, Michael plays a superb performance that plucks the heartstrings of the listeners. The closing is so moving that it is hard to express words! This “Rock Bottom” and the final “Doctor, Doctor” are great takes that will convince all listeners why Michael was called “God” and why his fans accepted it without any sense of incongruity! From the opening to the ending, this album is filled with vivid emotion and freshness for about 90 minutes. The recording of Miracle Man, which fully captures the charm of Michael Schenker as a guitarist, is sure to reign as a new masterpiece of the ’84 Japan tour! This is a majestic release that is a must-listen and must-have for all hard rock fans!
