In 2017, they returned to Japan for “Loud Park 17” following their previous year’s performance, and the live performance at Osaka Grand Cube on October 16th was recorded in full in a digital audience recording over two hours. First of all, Osaka was the only venue on this Japan tour, except for the performance with Laupa, and while the set was somewhat shortened there, this was the only full set live performance. Moreover, because it was a small hall, the sound was solid and direct, with a quality that made it seem like a soundboard at first listen, and not only Michael’s guitar, but also the vocals of Gary Barden, Graham Bonnet, and Robin McAuley were realistically reproduced. And while this unit had prepared different numbers for each day overseas, they also set up “Broken Promises,” “No Time For Losers,” and “Bad Boys” in Osaka, and it was nice to see UFO’s “Natural Thing” and “Lights Out” played as an encore. Furthermore, Graham Bonnet’s voice, which had been a concern many times, has almost returned to its prime, and his voice is more passionate than Lauper’s from the previous day, which is moving, and of course everyone is in better shape on the second day, so be sure to check it out.
