Description
A new master containing M.S.G.’s Golden Age performance in Japan is scheduled to be released! This work was recorded on “January 19, 1983: Osaka Welfare Pension Hall”. This is the second performance in Japan that was realized in conjunction with “Apocalypse.” This tour was shaken by the departure of Graham Bonnet and the return of Gary Burden, but M.S.G.’s golden age shows no signs of slowing down in favor of the Japanese. For that reason, we have also delivered masterpiece live albums of each performance, so let’s organize them here.・January 13th: Fukuoka Sun Palace Hall “GOD RETURNS DEFINITIVE MASTER” ・January 15th: Nagoya City Public Hall ・January 17th: Kyoto Kaikan “ULCER ATTACK” ・January 18th: Osaka Welfare Pension Hall “OSAKA 1983 1ST NIGHT”・January 19th: Osaka Welfare Pension Center [This work]・January 20th: Tokyo, Nippon Budokan “BURNIN’ WITH DESERT FIRE” The above 6 performances are the entirety of “ASSAULT ATTACK JAPAN TOUR 1983.” With the exception of the Nagoya performance, most of the performances have been made into live albums, and this work’s “January 19th” has also been released as a 2CD + DVD “FLYING BACK IN OSAKA)”. However, this work is a completely different recording from “FLYING BACK IN OSAKA”. This is a new discovery that has recently emerged from the Per-Erik collection, a famous taper that is also known as the “Nordic magician.” Of course, Per-Erik did not come to Japan and record, but famous recordings gather under famous recorders. His collection features unknown recordings from various eras and bands. This work is also one of such treasured collections. The sound is as expected from the Per-Erik collection. The clear musical tone is so beautiful that it rivals his own recordings, and it even comes close to Press’s masterpiece “FLYING BACK IN OSAKA.” In the quiet parts, the hissing noise is noticeable, so I can’t easily say “the highest sound quality ever!”, but the detail and closeness of the musical tones may even exceed “FLYING BACK IN OSAKA”. Particularly wonderful is the Gibson sound of lead actor Michael Schenker. That sweet melting tone is played out close to your ears. Of course, the rhythm section and keyboard are clear and well-balanced. Gary Burden’s vocals, which have improved dramatically since his first visit to Japan in 1981, arrive straight with outstanding clarity. Not only has Baden improved, but the set list is full of the flavor of 1983. From the beginning, the “1983 arrangement” that vividly changes from the instrumental “Ulcer” to “Cry For The Nations” is the best, and even “Rock You To The Ground” is performed (although it is a little harsh on Baden). . And above all, “Looking For Love”! This is one of the most popular songs that represents “Mythology,” but for some reason it is not often played live. Strictly speaking, it is not “ASSAULT ATTACK TOUR only” as it was played several times when he came to Japan one year later, but there are only a few records throughout his career. It was only this year that it was included in the regular set, and in this work, all the members will be able to listen to the performance that they have mastered. In particular, Flying V cries and screams dramatically, riding on the powerful drumming of Ted McKenna, who charges like Cozy Powell… As expected, “ASSAULT ATTACK TOUR” is amazing! This is a live album full of great performances from “ASSAULT ATTACK TOUR,” which is different from “ONE NIGHT AT BUDOKAN” or “ROCK WILL NEVER DIE.” Another great recording that Japan, which understands the true value of golden age M.S.G. more deeply than anywhere else in the world, is proud of.
