Description
The original recording of M.S.G.’s Golden Era performance in Japan will be released. This work includes “January 18, 1983, Osaka Welfare Pension Hall Performance”. If you’re thinking, “Huh?” at “Osaka Welfare Pension Hall in 1983,” you’re probably an avid enthusiast. Previously, the 2CD + DVD “FLYING BACK IN OSAKA” was released, but that was “January 19th, 2nd day in Osaka”. This work is an audience album containing a different “Osaka first day”. It is also an original recording using a master given directly by the recording person himself. At our store, we have reported on the 1983 Japan tour with many masterpiece recordings. Let’s briefly organize it here. ・January 13: Fukuoka Sun Palace Hall “GOD RETURNS DEFINITIVE MASTER” ・January 15: Nagoya City Public Hall ・January 17: Kyoto Kaikan “ULCER ATTACK” ・January 18: Osaka Welfare Pension Hall [This work]・January 19th: Osaka Employees’ Pension Hall “FLYING BACK IN OSAKA” ・January 20th: Tokyo Nippon Budokan “BURNIN’ WITH DESERT FIRE” The above 6 performances are the complete story of “ASSAULT ATTACK JAPAN TOUR 1983.” With the exception of the Nagoya performance, most of the performances are live albums. This work is one of the masterpieces of the first day in Osaka. Such a work is a really wonderful audience sound. There is no noise or sound cracking, and it is a wonderful recording that would not be strange even if pressed. However, while the recording itself was excellent, the state of preservation was not perfect. The original cassette itself had deteriorated over time, and there was a slight hiss in the musical tone. Therefore, in this work, we have carried out the latest and meticulous remastering in order to restore the “original sound” of the era in which it was recorded. Of course, we did not perform any noise reduction that would make the sound more powerful or remove the edges of the musical sound, but carefully restored it while preserving the “balance” and “ringing”. We succeeded in dramatically improving it. There is a “reason” why I wanted to go to such lengths to revive it. In addition to the valuable original recordings, the biggest reason is the splendor of the live performance itself. Japan is definitely the best place in the world if you want to taste Schenker. In front of that audience, the god of sharpness has descended, and Gary Burden is also in great condition. In fact, the biggest highlight of the “Apocalypse Tour” is Baden’s throat. Even if he could sing his songs as usual, Graham Bonnet’s “Rock You To The Ground” and “Desert Song” were unreliable, and unlike the “Fight Forever” tour, Derek St. Holmes sung them. There is also no support. When he’s doing well, he’s absolutely amazing, and when he’s not doing well, there’s nothing you can do about it. In fact, every time I listened to various music sources, I used to smile bitterly and say, “Well, I got it…” but on this day, I was able to sing quite well! As expected, it is impossible to hit the highest notes of “Rock You To The Ground,” but the high notes are generally strong, and the melody is almost the same as the original. If you think about it, it’s a live album where he says things like “You can do Baden if you do it too!” which is extremely rude if you think about it. Who is Michael’s best partner? Phil Mogg, Graham Bonnet, Robin McAuley…opinions may vary, but the first choice would be Gary Burden. Even at the last minute, the singing voice makes you want to cheer for some reason. A wonderful recording captured his singing. We cannot afford not to thoroughly revive this.
