This release features a full 1 hour and 49 minute recording of the January 29th Osaka Festival Hall concert, the final show of the “MY YEARS WITH UFO” Japan tour, which consisted entirely of UFO songs in 2026. The recording, made available by the taper from a digital audience master, captures Michael’s guitar and vocals with incredible directness from the front row of the arena. Given that the Festival Hall boasts some of the best acoustics in Japan, the sound quality is at a level that could easily pass as an official bootleg. This all-UFO set, finally available to Japan, is a UFO best-of live performance, including an instrumental medley, just like their performances around the world in previous years. However, the lineup for this Japanese show was completely revamped, with former Skid Row member Eric Grönwall returning on vocals, former Dream Theater member Derek Sherinian on keyboards, and former Whitesnake member Brian Tichy on drums. This lineup, featuring seasoned veterans, is a major highlight as it was exclusive to Japan. All three shows during this visit to Japan featured the same setlist, including numbers from “Force It,” “No Heavy Petting,” and “A New Intent to Kill,” as well as an instrumental medley, and of course, “Only You Can Rock Me,” “Doctor Doctor,” and “Rock Bottom,” bringing the 70s UFO Michael to Japan. Just like at the Budokan, Michael Amott of Arch Enemy appeared again for the final encore song, “Too Hot To Handle,” and the two performed a guitar duet, making this a limited-edition memorial item that perfectly recreates the best live performance befitting his final night in Japan.
