Description
In 2017, they came back to Japan for “Loud Park 17”, and here is a complete recording of their live performance at Laupa on October 15th and their only solo performance at Osaka Grand Cube on October 16th, both of which were recorded in soundboard quality from a multi-stereo IEM matrix source. First of all, the sound source is a fully fully matrixed sound source that is a line source from an uncompressed multi-ear monitor source for monitoring that the band members have been familiar with in recent years, and a digital audience master from the front row. In addition to the dramatic evolution of sound factors such as the equipment and mastering environment used, the sound sources used by the members, each with a different mix balance, are positioned mainly around Michael’s guitar, and then a stereo mix is created that combines exquisite audience sources used by professionals. And the live at Loud Park following the previous year, first of all, this project does not have a fixed singer, and while overseas there are times when there is only one singer, this time in Japan Gary Barden, Graham Bonnet, and Robin McAuley were all in full force. Michael’s playing was as sharp as in recent years, and the three vocalists were in better form than last year, and in addition to last year’s set, this time they also performed “No Time For Losers”, “Bad Boys”, and “Broken Promises”. In particular, “Broken Promises” from “Apocalypse” was only included in the set at the Sapporo performance in 2016, but this time it finally appeared here. Furthermore, the live at Osaka Grand Cube the next day was a solo performance, so it was a full set, and “Broken Promises”, “No Time For Losers”, and “Bad Boys” were included in the set as they were in Osaka, and it was also nice that UFO’s “Natural Thing” and “Lights Out” were played as encores. In addition, seven bonus tracks are included, including the sound check from the Osaka performance. In addition, a DVD containing a full recording of the screen footage set up at the venue, showing the Loud Park at Saitama Super Arena, is included. This is a complete recording of the giant screen set up on the side of the stage with an HD camera, right up to the ending, recreating the night with a quality that at first glance seems like a professional shot. First of all, while multi-IEM matrix sound sources have become familiar in recent years on the label, this work is a real stereo soundboard sound source that surpasses them, and the performance on the first day, the 8th, has already been released with a multi-IEM matrix sound source, and this is the sound quality that is not inferior to the official live version. And in this Japan tour, the Osaka performance on the 7th was almost a standard greatest hits live, but the set was completely changed for this final Tokyo performance, with 7 of the 21 songs not overlapping, and of course the set was different from the previous day. They performed nostalgic numbers such as “Truth” from the recently released “DON’T LET UP”, “This Boy Needs to Rock”, and “Seven Wishes”, as well as covers of Damn Yankees’ “Coming of Age”, Alice Cooper’s “School’s Out”, and Ozzy Osbourne’s “Crazy Train”. There are plenty of highlights, such as “Highway Star” included in “This Boy Needs to Rock”. In addition, “Penny” from the debut album was included in the set, which brought back memories of their first visit to Japan. In addition, five songs were added as bonus tracks from the Tokyo performance on the 8th, the first day of the previous day, making this a must-listen Japan-only memorial item for fans. Disc 1 : 01.
