Description
The sound sources of M.S.G.’s 1984 Japan tour are blessed with both quality and quantity. Among them, “SYSTEMS NEVER FAILING”, which recorded the Nagoya City Public Hall performance on January 27, the last day of the tour, with the highest quality stereo soundboard sound source, made a huge impact not only on Michael Schenker fans but also on all hard rock and heavy metal fans immediately after its release in 2004. It is now recognized as one of the most popular items among fans and is an item that is absolutely essential for listening to the ’84 Japan tour sound source. However, since it has been seven years since its release, it is difficult to obtain the work. Therefore, this time, to commemorate the appearance of “THE MOVING ELEMENT”, we have decided to record this legendary soundboard sound source directly from the original master and re-release it with the master’s original natural sound! Previously released CDs were recorded with a sound image that emphasized sound pressure, with a strong compressor, reflecting the trend of sound quality correction at the time, but this version has a natural sound quality that is just like the original material. When compared, the sound seems to have a slightly smaller sense of scale, but the clear, sharp sound, which is clearly different from the previously released version that sounds like everything is amplified, will allow the listener to immerse themselves in the performance comfortably. The eye-opening line sound source from “Captain Nemo”, where Michael’s guitar spins a majestic tune over Andy Nye’s prelude, is overwhelming, and the perfect sound quality that directly evokes the official live performance “ROCK WILL NEVER DIE” is dazzling! The performance of “Rock My Nights Away” and “Are You Ready To Rock”, which flows from this song, seems to reflect the era when M.S.G. was most stable. It’s clear when you play this part loud on the speakers, but unlike the flashy and punchy Langley version, this version, which has a more natural and straight texture, seems to fit these songs better. The band, which has performed live in Europe and Japan, is at the peak of their playability and the breathing between the members, and they are so united that the side can quickly respond to Michael’s guitar playing. Thanks to this, Michael seems to be able to immerse himself in his playing with peace of mind, and the solos in “On And On” and “Into The Arena” are simply superb. Gary Barden has also made fewer mistakes on this tour, and his performance is a world apart from his performance in ’81. In particular, Andy Nye’s support for “I’m Gonna Make You Mine” is excellent, and the performance is comparable to the studio album. The following “Systems Failing” is not included in the official live performance, and the joy of listening to this rare song with the best line sound source is irreplaceable. It is also interesting to compare the shining unison of Michael and Andy in the middle with the take of “THE MOVING ELEMENT”. It is no exaggeration to say that the perfection of “Armed And Ready” and “Doctor Doctor”, which color the end of the set, shows the achievement of M.S.G. in the early ’80s! The cut due to the tape change in the middle of Rock Will Never Die and the non-recording of “Rock Bottom” are the same as the previous release, and it is regrettable that this master is not a complete recording. However, the value of this work, which contains the Nagoya performance, which made the people involved at the time say “This day was definitely the best live performance”, in an official class ultra-high quality sound board sound source, has not faded even today! The legendary document of 77 minutes of excitement and excitement is now revived. Please enjoy the best of the ’84 visit to Japan with the natural sound unique to the original tape!
