Description

A live performance of Michael Brecker, who passed away in 2007 at the age of 57, while riding in his 1996 car. Pat Metheny, Dave Holland, and Jack DeJohnette are the best possible members. The piano is basically Joey Calderazzo. Metheny-Holland-DeJohnette don’t need much to say. Brecker’s performance is amazing! Has any tenor player since Coltrane had this much depth? Performance technique and spirituality beyond that? In any case, with the exception of Joe Henderson, it seems that there was no other tenor player who could perform as well as he did. For that reason, his death at the age of 57 is sorely missed, even though his future prospects were high. The performer is DeJohnette on the drums, and Brecker and others are of course amazing, but the domination of this drum is on a level that is rarely heard. Brecker is also extremely skilled, but his drumming is second to none. Live at Philadelphia,PA February.1997 Disc 1 1. intro 2. Slings & Arrows 3. Willie T. 4. Song for Bilbao Disc 2 1. intro 2.
