Description

From the UK tour accompanying “Master Of Puppets” in 1986, Newcastle on September 19th completely recorded the Mayfair performance with ultra-high quality audience recording. A must-listen and must-have disc for fans that directly uses the original master cassette, which is not even available among traders. Live photos from that day are scattered inside the jacket. Fans will be greatly surprised by the clear and stable sound of the opening Ecstacy Of Gold ~ Battery. Cliff Burton, of course, is the bassist. James, who broke his left wrist while skateboarding, focuses on vocals, and roadie John Marshall plays the rhythm guitar. (James will tell the story as MC after the Master Of Puppets performance.) The bass roaring like a bull in the following For Whom The Bell Tolls is amazingly powerful. All songs are played at surprisingly fast speeds, and the ensemble is rough, but you can enjoy the unique sound image and charm that can only be experienced at this time of year. Following the MC saying, “Do you have a blue album? The one with a little chair written on it,” the title track of the second album, Ride The Lightning, is played vigorously. I was once again surprised by the roughness of Lars’ drumming. Cliff’s bass solo recorded with clear sound is a masterpiece. Whiplash’s dynamic rhythm and intense groove are another masterpiece of this period that bursts with charm. The Thing That Should Not Be, which starts with a raw groove and feel like a session, continues with a straight and wild sound image. James appears to be drunk, and before Fade To Black, he drinks a local beer, Newcastle Brown, and says, “This is the fucking good shit ma you know?” However, he sometimes forgets the lyrics at the 2-minute mark (but he continues to sing emotionally until the end).Raz’s play, where he hits the song at will at the 4-minute mark, is also amazing. After the show, James seemed to like the beer and said, “…is the Newcastle Brown getting to me or what?…I think i’m getting fucked up on a Friday!..” The main set ended with the wonderful performance of Seek And Destroy, and Creeping Death, which impressed me with Lars’s drumming that continued to rush even if it stalled or stalled. The encore was a powerful performance of The Four Horsemen, Am I Evil?, Damage Inc., and the final song was Fight Fire With Fire, a series of killer tunes. The sound image is stable until the very end, and you can fully enjoy the strongest performance at the best time. As a metal CD, this is without a doubt one of the best masterpieces of the year.
