Description
The 1988 “…AND JUSTICE FOR ALL” UK tour, which started with two consecutive performances at the Edinburgh Playhouse in Scotland on September 24th and 25th, culminated with three consecutive performances at London’s Hammersmith Odeon from October 9th to 11th, after the “DAMAGED BRITISH” performances in Braford and Sheffield. METALLICA at this time were trying to climb to the top while retaining the rebellious spirit and wildness that is inherent to metal, by kicking out the traditional bands that had become commercialized, such as L.A. metal. They were putting on a spectacular live performance that relieved the sighs of all metal fans. When it comes to the standard footage of this performance, the official Seattle performance in 1989 comes to mind first, but the live performance on October 10th, the middle day of the three consecutive performances at Hammersmith Odeon, is the second best. It was released as “HAMMERSMITH 1988” and is known as a high-quality title that is a must-see for enthusiasts. This time, to visually support the above-mentioned “DAMAGED BRITISH”, this classic video has been remastered and released! The video begins with a mysterious opening, and the perfect multi-camera pro shot shows not only James and Kirk’s playing, but also the stage set at that time. James’ vocals, singing with all his anger over a heavy performance, are full of formidable persuasiveness. Of course, the sound quality is also excellent. Lars’ drums and Jason’s bass are recorded on a superb soundboard that clearly stands out, and the destructive musical sounds that the band produces together will knock out any fan! The video progresses with Lars’ interview in between, and along with testimonials about the band, you can also see the fans flocking around the venue. The heaviness and sharpness of “Seek And Destroy,” which follows the interview, conveys the boiling ambition and spirit of the young METALLICA! Furthermore, in the middle of the album, “One” from the new album appears! The intro is reminiscent of the video clip that shocked not only the band’s fans but also the general public, and everyone will be glued to the screen. The wonderful songs and performances, which are both ephemeral and ferocious, hot and cold, will show the band’s musical maturity in the best way possible. In the highlight of the live performance, “And Justice For All,” an interview with Lars is inserted in the middle, but in the second half, you can see the unique production of the time, where the stone statues on the jacket and the set collapse, with excellent footage! Although the entire video is a little short, at about 35 minutes, this work, which allows you to enjoy the ’88 UK tour with the best professional shots, will leave a strong impression on all fans of the stage scenery at that time. With an original menu and superb sound and picture quality, this is a must-see video of the “AND JUSTICE FOR ALL” live performance that every fan will want to collect!
