The violent miracle recording has been revived with a new master! This is an upgrade of the great masterpiece “MASTER OF CHICAGO”. Moreover, it is not just a remastered reissue. The recording itself is the same, but it has been upgraded by a completely different newly excavated master. I never thought that the miracle recording would be even more amazing… I suddenly started talking about “miracle recording” and “great masterpiece”, but if you don’t know “MASTER OF CHICAGO”, it’s all confusing. First, let’s start with the basics. “MASTER OF CHICAGO” is a live album from “July 13, 1986”. It is a superb audience recording of the Hoffman Estates performance outside of Chicago. When you say “1986” and “Chicago”, some people may remember the box set of “MASTER OF PUPPETS” that was officially released the other day, or the famous audience “CHICAGO 1986 FIRST LEG”. This work is a completely different performance from those. First of all, let’s check the show’s position from the whole “DAMAGE, INC. TOUR”. TOUR” that changed the world. The official Chicago box performance and “CHICAGO 1986 FIRST LEG” were “North America #1”, but this work is “North America #2”. This is the third concert. And this show was recorded by Taper, a world-famous Chicago resident. He is a great talent who not only worked on this work and “CHICAGO 1986 FIRST LEG”, but also on the masterpiece “THE ECSTASY OF ARAGON”, which contains “RIDE THE LIGHTNING TOUR” with the ultimate sound. The sound far surpasses the previous work “MASTER OF CHICAGO”. The intro and tape change are recorded for a few seconds longer than the previous release, but that is just proof of the new master. The important thing is the sound, and this work is several steps clearer and more brutal direct sound than the previous work! Although I thought that the previous work was “a wonderful audience”, the clear and crystal clear sound world of this work can be called “like a sound board”. In fact, there was no echo at all, and it was as close as if I was in the same room as the young METALLICA. The sound of the previous work improved towards the end, but this work is intense from the beginning (the microphone contact sound at the beginning of “Battery” is the same as the previous work). Not only the previous work, but even “THE ECSTASY OF ARAGON” and “CHICAGO 1986 FIRST LEG” of the same taper collection are overwhelmed. It is a ferocious recording that is unparalleled even in the “DAMAGE, INC. TOUR”. The show that is hit with that sound is amazing! As shown in the schedule above, the ensemble that the “golden four” reached in the latter half of Cliff Burton’s life is ferocious. While the growth from the tour is engraved, the thoroughly wild attitude does not waver even a little. It is not as consistent as after Jason Newsted joined, but it does not collapse even if it rushes at a high speed, and the mid has a tremendous weight that shakes the five organs. Although it was a short set only for the opening act of Ozzy Osbourne, five of the eight songs from the new work “MASTER OF PUPPETS” were played on a large scale, and the previous work “For Whom The Bell Tolls”, “Creeping Death” and “Fade To Black” were included. It is a live album that condenses and reduces “RIDE THE LIGHTNING + MASTER OF PUPPETS” with a violent live performance. Even so, it is amazing. Whether it is the official box, “CHICAGO 1986 FIRST LEG”, or this work, why is “Chicago in 1986” so amazing…? If you are hit with such intense metal, the music scene on Earth will change. This is an audience album that tells the truth of the “DAMAGE, INC. TOUR” that promised great success later and repainted the world. This is the highest peak sound board. The performance and sound are of exceptional quality. It’s such a powerful album that I can’t help but feel frustrated that all I can say is “amazing” and “tremendous”!
