The other day, their performance in Japan was a huge success, and their aggressive, heavy tank-like live performance is super clear. Although it’s a short set for the festival, they still have a dignified active feeling, performing five songs from the masterpiece “DYSTOPIA”, “The Threat Is Real”, “Post American World”, “Poisonous Shadows”, “Dystopia”, and “Fatal Illusion”. Moreover, the new songs are so cool that the crowd heats up! Longtime fans, of course, but even girls who weren’t even born when MEGADETH debuted, are crowd surfing. “Number 3 in the US” and “Grammy Award” are becoming the epithets, but these honors are not just for show. And their golden masterpieces are also great! MEGADETH lowers the key, probably because of Dave Mustaine’s throat. The “weight” that is created by this is very cool. To be honest, Mustaine’s peak as a vocalist was in the late 90s, and he suddenly lost his voice around 2010. Some people may have covered their ears at the incredible singing voice in the official DVD “RUST IN PEACE LIVE”. After that, they dealt with it by lowering the key, but the voice still sounded painful. However, although the key remains lower, it has become more dreadful, befitting the heavy sound. Far from being unpleasant to listen to, it has been reborn as an even more “intimidating MEGADETH”. The super hit songs from the past are also in the “heavy MEGADETH version”.
