McCoy Tyner, who was also famous as a member of John Coltrane’s regular quartet, recorded a concert in Vienna, Austria on July 9, 1996, on a soundboard recording by a local radio on-air master, and was digitally remastered in 2024. This almost full recording lasts for 1 hour and 29 minutes. First of all, it is worth noting that the regular trio is joined by Michael Brecker to form a quartet, and the set also features many numbers from the album “Infinity” released the previous year. Among them, there are many highlights, such as Coltrane’s standard tune “IMPRESSIONS” from the Impulse era, which can be heard with Brecker’s blow, and McCoy’s heavy piano work on McCoy’s original “CHANGES”.
