Description
A title coveted by fans has appeared, which includes the broadcast sound source of the Max Roach Group’s 1978 Japan performance in Tokyo and the same year’s performance in Willisau, Switzerland. The previous year’s live performance in 1977 was released as “Live at Tokyo Vol. 1 & Vol. 2” by the Denon label, and is said to be a masterpiece by fans. This time, the main release released was a live performance held the following year, and the backing members are the same as the previous year, including saxophonist Billy Harper. The original source was a cassette tape that recorded a live radio broadcast at the time, and as expected, deterioration over time is inevitable and there is some tape hiss and noise. In addition, on Disc 2, the performance of Willisau, Switzerland by the same members is recorded with better sound quality than the broadcast sound source, and this is a must-listen.
