Maceo Parker’s latest live performance in 2015! Completely recorded with professional shots of the highest image quality! He was a member of James Brown, P-Funk, and most recently Prince’s band NPG, but in addition to being a guest saxophonist, he tours with his own band. What’s more, this face is amazing.First of all, Greg Boyer, who was with Maceo at Prince’s place, played the trombone in P-Funk since the 1970s. And the guitar player is Bruno Speight, who was formerly the mainstay of the SOS band. And then there’s Rodney Skeet Curtis, who was also a famous P-Funk bassist from the 70s, and Martha High, who was a friend of Maceo’s, or rather was in the same James Brown band, with Funky Diva and Lynn Collins. The vocalist and drummer is Dennis Champers, an invincible drummer who can silence even the crying child. Their 2% jazz, 98% funk sound is so cool that it makes you tremble. Prince’s Baby Knows, Maceo’s beloved Ray Charles cover You Don’t Know Me, covers of the Meters and JB, and JB’s songs are arranged in a way only Maceo’s band can do, and Martha High is that song.
