Description
When Ritchie reorganized Rainbow in 2016, singer Ronnie Romero was discovered, and his vocals, which seemed to fuse the styles of the previous vocalists, became a big topic among fans around the world. And from Romero’s own band, Rose of Black’s 2017 Japan tour, the live performances at Shibuya Quattro on August 30th and Umeda Quattro on the following day were recorded in complete quality, both of which can be said to be the highest peak in audience recordings. First of all, this is their visit to Japan following “LOUDPARK 2016” the previous year, and although this is their only two visits to Japan this time, both are their first solo full live performances, and since both were small halls, there is no sense of distance, and at first listen, it seems like a sound board. The full set live lasted just under two hours, and the set contents were the same for both shows, but they also performed the two-part “The Art of Illusion Part I: Smoke and Mirrors” and “Part II: The Man From Beyond”, “Cry No More” dedicated to Phil Lynott, and the 10-minute masterpiece “When Everything Is Gone” and “Forgive or Forget”, which were not heard last year. Since they are particularly pursuing dramatic, dynamic and heavy music, bringing in such masterpieces has scaled up the performance and perfectly reproduced the band’s worldview. The highlight of the show was the Rainbow classics prepared for the second encore, including “Long Live Rock’n’Roll” and “Burn”, as well as “Kill The King”, “Lost In Hollywood”, and even “Lady Of The Lake”, which were not included in the set of the reorganized Rainbow. Furthermore, Sabbath’s “Neon Knights” is also inserted, and it is no wonder that Richie said that Romero reminds him of Ronnie Dio and Freddie Mercury. In any case, this is a must-have collector’s edition for fans who are looking forward to Rainbow’s future activities. Disc 1 : 1. Intro: Malevolently Beautiful 2. Merciless 3. Nothing Left to Fear 4.
