Description
In 1973, Linda Ronstadt solidified her footing as a solo singer with “DON’T CRY NOW” and began climbing the ladder of great success. The exquisite soundboard album is now available. What is recorded in this work is “November 18, 1973 Sausalito”. This is a stereo soundboard recording. The greatest flavor of this work lies in the synchronized feeling in which Linda’s singing voice is poured directly into your brain, but first of all, the position. Let’s take a look back at her tour schedule at the time, which was the most performances in her solo career.・January 4th – March 24th: North America #1 (52 performances) ・September 18th – 23rd: Atlanta (6 performances) [“DON’T CRY NOW” released on October 1st] ・October 10 Sunday – 14th: Chicago (5 performances) October 31st – November 18th: North America #2 (7 performances) ←★Here★ December 6th – 15th: North America #3 (5 performances) This is 1973 Linda Ronstadt. Even though they have the largest number of performances, it is not a world tour, but a thorough circuit in their home country of America (and neighboring Canada). Before and after the release of the album, they held many performances at the same venue in Atlanta and Chicago, but the Sausalito performance of this work was “North America #2” where they repeatedly moved and performed. It was the last performance. However, this day was not a so-called stage live. The “Record Plant” that became the venue is not a concert venue, but a recording studio. It was a studio live performed for the San Francisco radio station “KSAN-FM”. Since that pattern was no longer broadcast, it has produced a number of previous episodes, and it reigns as a standard soundboard representing Linda from the “DON’T CRY NOW” era. This work is also such an FM sound board, and it is a masterpiece that has been made into a CD from the master that is considered the best. In fact, this album sounds like a studio album. There is applause after each song, but this is all done by the staff and there is no spectacle of a large audience. Of course, there is no spread in terms of sound, and the feeling of a closed room in a small studio is clearly conveyed. Of course, that’s not a bad thing. The closed room feeling of the studio creates a sense of synchronization that would be impossible on stage, and Linda’s singing voice and Jeff Baxter’s steel guitar are completely reproduced in the brain. You can immerse yourself in the synchronized feeling as if your skull has become a console room. Moreover, in terms of sound, even though it is a studio album, the performance itself is live. Linda’s singing voice is full of freshness, and even her breath is ultra-realistic. It feels so real, like she’s right there, breathing into the microphone. The ultra-synchronized sound depicts a special performance that resembles a best-of album that concentrates early solos. Let’s organize the contents here. Linda Ronstadt (3 songs) ・I Fall To Pieces / Rock Me On The Water / Crazy Arms Don’t Cry Now (3 songs) ・Silver Threads and Golden Needles / Love Has No Pride / I Believe In You Bad You (4 songs) Song)・I Can’t Help It (If I’m Still In Love With You)/It Doesn’t Matter Anymore/The Dark End Of The Street/ You’re No Good Others (3 songs)・Hand Thorn… Home Grown: Break My Mind, Silk Purse: Long, Long Time, Others: Nightingale…and so on. The production of the next work “HEART LIKE A WHEEL” began in June 1974, but four songs have already been performed. Of course, all of them were first performances or very early performances, and even “You’re No Good,” which has become a classic, is truly new. Other numbers are also selected from a wide range of albums. The studio live show allows you to enjoy a repertoire that you don’t usually get to hear, including the Eagles cover “Nightingale”, “Rock Me On The Water”, “Crazy Arms”, “I Believe In You”, and “The Dark End Of The Street”. That’s why it’s delicious. It’s far more vivid than a studio album, where redoing and dubbing are the norm, and far more intimate than a concert live. This is a masterpiece of musical differences that makes the most of the taste of studio live music. A live album where you can feel Linda’s singing voice when she was 27 years old.
