Description

“LOS ANGELES 1977 MIKE MILLARD 1ST GEN” released at Universal Amphitheater on October 3, 1977, which was a record of Linda Ronstadt at the peak of her career by Mike Millard, continues to be a bestseller, but Millard continues to release it weekly.・This time, the archives discovered the sound source from the same venue two days ago. As evidence of Linda’s explosive popularity at the time, 12 consecutive nights of performances were held at the Universal Amphitheater from September to October, and Millard’s performances were recorded except for October 3rd, when she performed at Chiakiraku. There’s nothing surprising about that. This is a newly discovered sound source that captures the stage on October 1st, but Millard did not arrive in time for the show to begin and the first seven songs up to “It Doesn’t Matter Anymore” are not included. That point is definitely a flaw. Thanks to that, the recording started from the beginning of “When Will I Be Loved”, but unlike on the 3rd, the performance was suddenly recorded. That’s why when you press the play button, you’ll be surprised at the closeness of the sound image that you can’t help but be surprised by, “Wow, that’s close.” You will be overwhelmed by the powerful sound image that even surpasses the recording on the 3rd, which had such excellent sound quality. As expected, the mirrored quality of “miracle is the default” is on full display this time as well. Also, since it is the stage at its peak, it is unavoidable that the surrounding audience is feverish, but it is also a big point that this can be recorded in a calmer environment than on the 3rd. The sound image is close and the surroundings are not too noisy, so it has amazing quality that can’t help but be called the ideal mirror for audience recording. For this release, the high pitch has been carefully adjusted to make it even easier to listen to. Linda is in great condition even on this day’s stage, which was captured with such a superb recording. She has a reputation for her vocal power, so it’s hard to believe that she’s been singing for over a week straight, and her singing voice and punchy shouts explode. Although the set list is the same as on the 3rd, the unquestionably wonderful singing voice on this day has been thoroughly reproduced by Millard’s perfect recording. The audience is very excited in front of her, but there are no stressful scenes when listening to her. The performance of the backing band that supports her in top form is perfect and flawless. The sound pressure of the high-level performance by such talented members as Wadi Wachtel on guitar and Andrew Gold on drums is amazing, and the miraculous recording balance of just the right amount of presence and powerful sound image captures every detail of their performance. It is said that it has been captured. While the sound source on the 3rd was a first generation copy, this time there is a big difference in that it is a master tape. I think there are many enthusiasts who have already made up their minds just because it is a mirrored recording master tape, but this time it is also a stable high quality recording. The sound was so good that I almost forgot that the first half of the show was not recorded. If you play it at full blast, you’ll be transported back in time to Universal Amphitheater in 1977. This time too, it is a masterpiece audience album where “miracles are the default” is at full throttle. (Remaster Memo) Corrected the pitch which is over 20% higher than a semitone. After leveling out the sound pressure, we raised the overall sound pressure.
