Description
This is a 60-minute recording of Lee Ritenour’s live performance at the 16th Tokyo Jazz Festival held at NHK Hall on September 2, 2017, recorded on a superb stereo soundboard. Lee Ritenour’s guitar, which has a truly urban sound based on the octave playing of his beloved Wes Montgomery, is an inspiring guitar summit with Pat Martino, a master of jazz guitar who continues to demonstrate his undiminished imagination and technique, along with his friend Dave Grusin, who needs no introduction, Dave Weckl, who has become a top drummer by backing Simon & Garfunkel and performing with jazz pianists Michel Camilo and Chick Corea, and Tom Kennedy, who has made a name for himself by performing with Al DiMeola, Mike Stern, and others. 1.
