Description
A 2CD definitive edition that combines the performances in Buffalo and Kansas City from the 1969 fall tour! The Buffalo performance is mainly recorded, and the Kansas City performance is included as a bonus in the second half of Disc 2. First of all, there will be a performance in Buffalo on October 30th, but there are only a few releases, and this performance appeared partially in the early 1990s on the old Tara-based Tekomusa version “PAT’S DELIGHT” and the old Tara “LONG TALL SALLY”. Next, HOW MANY makes its first appearance with “BUFFALO SIXTYNINE,” which seems to be a European version. After a while, What Is and Moby first appeared in “BAFFALO HUNTER” in the late ’90s. Then, in the 2000s, a new cod appeared. These are the main items. This performance has been treated quite plainly, but the point is that it is a rare stereo recording in 1969, and the sound quality is so high that it is strange that it has been neglected until now. The performance is close enough, and since the low range is on, it has a moody texture, and although there is some hiss, there is no feeling of forced operation, and the high range is well followed, similar to the 1969 Aud version. It’s pretty good quality. Even compared to titles that have been released in recent years, which feel thin due to hiss reduction, the difference in the freshness, depth, and thickness of the sound is clear. This edition uses the same source as the previous release, but with two types of masters that are not online, achieving the highest sound quality and longest recording ever! This time, the main part is recorded from the master that is said to be 2nd Gen, but there is a cutout at the end of HOW MANY, but this part was recorded the longest, although the sound quality is poor. Also, “BUFFALO SIXTYNINE” (NP-55002), the last 2 minutes and 20 seconds of the new Tara were diverted from that disc, but this time, that part was not taken from the previously released CD, but was supplemented by the submaster. I am. The submaster is a cassette of unknown generation, but the sound quality is very similar to the main part, and the seams are not noticeable at all (by the way, the connection point is around 9:20 CD time). The submaster’s compensation is about 2 minutes and 35 seconds at the end of HOW MANY, but this makes the last 15 seconds a surprising first appearance. The first appearance is cut out in the middle of the conversation between Plant and Jimmy, but this is the first time that the final part of the title has been captured in high quality, even if only a little, and it is the original title with the longest final part up until now. BUFFALO SIXTYNINE” is a huge difference in sound quality, and this will be a big advantage. In addition, White Summer / Black Mountain Side has two cuts in the main version, but in some previous releases, the front and back of the cut part was edited to make it look like it was uncut, but there are actually cuts. As a result of avoiding unnecessary editing on this edition, you can also hear some parts of the performance that could not be heard in the previous edition. Also, on the most recently released version, there were cuts to process digital errors and small noises when changing chapters, but there are no problems with this version. With the appearance of this edition, which is the best in terms of sound quality and content, all of those previously released titles will be ignored. The Kansas City performance on November 5th in the second half of Disc 2 seems to have been performed twice on that day, but the specific content seems not to be clear (there seems to be some literature that says the sound source is from the first performance). The existing sound source is about 40 minutes long, so perhaps it is treated as a low-key item. There are even fewer items here, and “TALES FROM ’69” stands out among the existing ones, but these are items from over 20 years ago. Considering that, although it is a bonus recording, it is the first time in a long time that it has been properly mastered. However, although it is a monaural Aud, the sound quality is good, and the difference is obvious even when compared to previous releases. Although the performance is not as good as the main Buffalo, it is close enough and has a good sound that you can listen to without any problems. The low frequency range, which was a bit sparse, has been reinforced and carefully corrected in a direction with good clarity. In addition, the last HOW MANY is cut out and ends, but in the already released Balboa version and the old Tara version, the cheers pulled from another part of the same day are connected to the bottom. This cheer section is the cheers after the dazzling performance, and the correct state is for the actual tape to end with a cutout.
