Description
From the 1977 North American tour, June 13th, New York, the 5th day of 6 consecutive performances at Madison Square Garden is recorded in high quality monaural audience recording! The live upgrade version that first appeared on the TDOLZ version about 20 years ago is now available as a nice gift title. This is the longest album to date, with the cut portions compensated as much as possible using the monaural audience source that appears for the first time, centered on the upgraded master of the same source as the previously released TDOLZ edition. The sound quality of the tape, which is considered as the main source 1, is superior in thickness, depth, presence, and extension of the bass range compared to the TDOLZ record, and you will be able to feel the difference when you listen to it. Although it is a live recording from a distance in a large venue, I get the impression that the separation of performances is not good at the beginning of Song Remain. However, the sound source itself gradually became easier to hear, probably because the PA sound was adjusted during the actual live performance. The main sound source has a sound with excellent low-frequency extension, but I felt it was a little too much, so I made some EQ adjustments. Regarding the presence or absence of cuts in main source 1, there are advantages and disadvantages compared to the TDOLZ version. First of all, although the master used this time is recorded in the first completed version with no cuts in Ten Years Gone, there were omissions in the MC section after the NQ performance and in the Moby Dick song. These two cuts have been compensated appropriately on the TDOLZ board. In addition, the cuts in Song Remain-, No Quarter, Bron-Y-Aur Stomp, and Black Dog were similar to those in TDOLZ, so they have been supplemented with the first appearance source 2 mentioned above. As for the Heartbreaker cut section, it remains missing because the source 2 sound source itself does not exist here. This source 2 tape is a little more distant and lacks depth and sound compared to source 1, but it has a cleaner sound, and some people may think that the performance itself is easier to listen to than source 1. I don’t know. However, the recording time of this sound source is much shorter than that of Source 1 (Moby Dick, Guitar Solo, and Heartbreaker are not included), and the sound often blurs in the middle (like a wavy tape), so it is not suitable as a supplementary source. I kept it for use. The jacket is also carefully designed to the inside just like a regular sales item, and the voluminous ZEP 3-disc title is now available as the longest version of the 2-source mix!
