Description

This recording captures their Manchester concert on November 24, 1971. While their summer tour of Japan was so impressive that this period tends to be less memorable, I believe it represents one of the highest-level UK tours in Led Zeppelin’s history. The performance is consistently high-quality throughout, truly befitting their prime. The audience’s lukewarm reaction to their passionate performance is typical of UK tours; sometimes, when they’re not in top form, they lose focus or start cursing at the audience, but they persevere, continuing to deliver a high-level performance, even showing a sense of confidence. This period was undoubtedly the band’s peak. FREE TRADE HALL, MANCHESTER, ENGLAND November 24, 1971 DISC ONE 01. introduction 02. Immigrant Song 03. Heartbreaker 04. Black Dog 05.
