Description
Zeppelin’s concert tours are often categorized and described by year, but the UK tour, which began at the end of November 1972 after the second performance in Japan, continued throughout the year until January 1973. This is a series of events that were performed across the board. After performing two shows in Montreux, Switzerland as a warm-up, they went on a tour that took them around the UK for about two months from November 25, 1972 to January 30, 1973. There will be a total of 28 performances (including 2 performances in Montreux). In contrast to the 1973 American tour, which was held in large stadiums, this winter’s UK tour was held in small to medium-sized venues as usual. For this reason, there is a sense of closeness, and the atmosphere of the audience is good, which is reflected in the performances, and it is a tour that has produced many great performances. Among the enthusiastic enthusiasts, there may be many who recommend this UK tour, which took place from 1972 to 1973, as the best tour. This UK tour was Zeppelin’s largest UK tour to date, having previously targeted the American market. The show was so popular that tickets for all performances sold out within a few hours, reflecting the desire of fans. And the Offenburg performance where this work was recorded corresponds to the last day of West Germany, where the most concerts were held on the tour. There are currently two sources confirmed for the Offenburg performance on March 24, 1973. And while the sound quality is excellent and the content is considered one of Zeppelin’s peaks, it is also an unfortunate day when there are no existing titles. If I were to mention major titles, it would be COBRA’s “CUSTARD PIE” and TDOLZ’s “NOT WARM IT’S HOT.” All of them are old titles that have been around 20 years since their release and have not been able to support upgrades during that time. There is also a song titled “COLD SWEAT” from the label LIVE REMAINS, but it was released over 10 years ago. This time, in order to present it as a definitive edition at the Offenburg performance on March 24, 1973, where there were few previously released titles in contrast to the content and sound quality, this work was produced by editing two types of sources. This is a performance that has not received much attention until now, but while the content remains good, the sound quality and pitch accuracy have improved, and I hope that this work will increase the momentum for re-evaluation of the masterpiece. .
