Description

A 2-disc set featuring the September 3rd San Diego performance from the 1970 summer North American tour! In recent years, there has been no original release, a truly rare live performance. This forgotten sound source will be updated for the first time in a long time. Let’s review the flow of the items recorded in this performance in a super simple manner (in fact, there’s not much to write about). First of all, it was not released in the analog LP era, and was released in a 10CD BOX (now that I think about it, cheap) around ’94. It made its first appearance in the 1st and 2nd part of the “bubble release” with a packaging that made me excited. Then, around 1995, a second title appeared quickly (hard to believe now). These two items popped up in the mid-90s! After that release, there were no new items, and 25 years have passed in the blink of an eye, and in recent years, data based on those already released records is scattered on the internet, and copy discs are just floating around. We are currently in a sad situation (the two original titles listed above are surprisingly rare to find even second-hand). The day before this performance was held in Oakland on September 2nd (familiar with the rare performance of “Train” from 1970), and the following day on the 4th was held in between the super major “Blueberry” Inglewood performance that would silence even the crying children. This San Diego live on September 3, 1970 has been sadly completely overlooked. It is true that there is a sense of distance in terms of sound quality, and I would not hesitate to say that the slightly peculiar echo-tinged texture is suitable for intermediate players and above, but to be honest, the sound quality is suitable for enthusiasts, and even more so. Bron-Yr-Aur, which was supposed to be played in the middle of the actual live performance, was canceled on that day due to equipment trouble.Furthermore, the recording content of the sound source was cut out in the middle of the performance of the communication at the end, and the sound quality was poor during the live performance before and after. I guess it’s true that they can’t compete at all, both in terms of style and content. This time, for the first time in a long time, we have made the upgrade master into a CD. Maybe it’s because it’s being treated as a low-key live show, or maybe the original sound source itself is rare, or maybe its existence itself has been completely forgotten, but only copies of previously released CDs were available on the internet, but this time it was quite good. Discover RAW masters. The sound source itself is the same source as the previous release, but it is a natural master with a clearly wide range, and it has the same echo feeling and sense of distance, but it has a good freshness, freshness, clarity, and depth of sound (richness and density). The sound has increased (*This is just a comparison with the previous release. It’s definitely aimed at enthusiasts, but it’s surprisingly listenable). The content has also been significantly upgraded. The cut part is generally the same as the previous release, but the front and back of the cut part are plain but longer, and there is a cut-in cut-out, so you can feel the difference in generation from the previous release. In addition to the intro section being recorded for more than a second longer, the sections between Since~ and Thank You are uncut for the first time, and the communication is cut out in the middle as mentioned above, but the recording time is about 10 seconds longer than the previous songs. The point is that it’s obviously long, and there’s also a part where it first appears, which is a bit of a pleasant surprise. The cut section emphasizes the first appearance and does not include crossfading. Please refer to the track list for detailed points. The bonus includes 4 songs from the previous day’s Auckland performance on September 2nd. I wonder if they played these bonus songs at the San Diego performance, and it’s actually a “delusional bonus track.” The communication was cut out in the main story, so it will be redone as a bonus. There are two types of masters released on September 2nd, and our label also has titles that use stereo sources as the main source, but this time, this bonus track section will be recorded with the main monaural source (only here is the net). Compensate with sauce. Compensate with bonus!) The September 2nd performance first appeared in this monaural source around ’95. Surprisingly, the only item that mainly uses this monaural source in the past is the first one, “Get Loose” (another nostalgic Holy Grail version!), so it is a modest but extremely valuable recording. Although it doesn’t have as much sound as a stereo source, it does have a punchy sound, and some people may find that the performance sounds better with this one.
