Description
The first album of “Liberet”, a band project by Lars Danielsson, a bassist/composer representing the ACT label that creates extremely high-level European jazz on a par with ECM, is being released for the first time on a superb high-quality soundboard recording of a blissful live performance in which recording members from across nationalities play beautiful music that shows the true essence of European jazz! ! A rare live performance in Hamburg, Germany on April 12, 2012, the day Liberet’s memorable first album “LIBERETTO” was released, was recorded on the best high-quality soundboard with careful mastering by the label. This must-listen album, which can be said to be the essence of European jazz, has arrived! ! This performance features the same members who recorded “LIBERETTO”: Lars, Tigran (no introduction necessary for those who have read Mother’s News), Magnus Ostrom, drummer of Esbjörn Svensson Trio (EST), and John Parricelli, a famous guitarist born in England and mainly active in the UK. The other member who participated in the album, trumpeter Arve Henriksen, is not participating. From the opening title song of the album, you will be struck by the beauty of the melancholy melody that is typical of Scandinavia! The entire album is centered around Lars’s singing bass, and Tigran, who is the key to this project, naturally draws you in with his brilliant improvisation solo on the elegant piano, where mysterious and beautiful phrases derived from Armenian music are played everywhere. John’s playing on guitar is relatively orthodox, but he does not stand out too much among this group of unique members, and tightens the sound of the entire band. Magnus’ playing, who is a fellow student of Lars and ACT and supports the backbone of EST, is a unique and spectacular performance that proves that “EST, which is indispensable to talk about 21st century jazz, would not have been possible without Magnus’ drums.” Lars Danielsson’s Liberet is undoubtedly wonderful, combining individuality and artistry. It is no exaggeration to say that this is the most beautiful jazz in Europe today.
