Description

The latest superb live album is here. In 2017, KRAFTWERK continues to tour by alternating between [THE CATALOGUE 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8] and regular concerts. Among them, this work includes “Perugia performance on July 7, 2017 (Italy)”. It is an audience recording from the performance at the most famous music festival in Italy, “UMBRIA JAZZ FESTIVAL”. This festival boasts a history of 44 years and is held every July. This year, 55 artists participated, and KRAFTWERK was one of the highlights along with Brian Wilson. First, let’s imagine the position of such a show in the overall picture of the tour.・May 20-23: 8 performances in Belgium [THE CATALOGUE] ・May 23: [3-D DER KATALOG] ・June 2-23: UK (17 performances) ・July 1: 1 performance in Germany [TOUR DE FRANCE] ・July 7: 1 performance in Italy ←★Here★ ・August 5: 1 performance in Portugal ・November 4-7: 8 performances in Turin [THE CATALOGUE] This is the concert summary published in 2017. Our shop has received great reviews for the original recording “ROYAL ALBERT HALL 2017 3RD NIGHT (Uxbridge 693)” from the “UK” tour, but this is the second report. This work is a superb audience with a fiercely clear sound. The strength of the extremely thick and direct musical sound and the vividness of the details are of the highest quality. What is particularly wonderful is the transparency of the scene. If you listen carefully, you can hear the “ringing” that is unique to spatial recording, but even that is crystal clear. The musical tones are richly colored, and there is no cloudiness or turbidity at all. Perhaps the fact that it is an outdoor venue turned out to be a good thing. There is no echo at all from the venue, and only the sense of scale in which the performance stretches clearly into the void is deliciously recorded. It is a sound that is roughly away from the audience, and is worthy of being called “like a sound board” … but in the case of KRAFTWERK, that is also a good thing. If the show is too tightly completed, if the sound is too line-smelling, it will be “somehow like listening to a studio record …”. However! This is not that kind of album. The musical tones are fiercely clear, but there are audiences who are breathing vividly. This festival is held in a space like a square in the city, and the mood of the large crowd spreading there, intoxicated and immersed in the sound and groove of KRAFTWERK, is super real. Of course, the audience is not a big fan of the music, and there is no bother during the performance. Rather, it is like a summer festival. It is a live album that fills the venue with music and summer heat. The show depicted by that sound brings back many of the great albums of the past, and dyes the venue. It is not a reproduction show of all the songs on the album, but the masterpieces are not lined up randomly, but are solidified by section. The flow is “COMPUTER WORLD” → “THE MAN-MACHINE” → “AUTOBAHN” → “RADIOACTIVITY” → “TOUR DE FRANCE” → “TOUR DE FRANCE”. Because it is not random, each album jacket and even memories of that time come to mind. And the venue is also dyed with the color of each album. The very popular “ROYAL ALBERT HALL 2017 3RD NIGHT” was also a masterpiece of master sound, but this work has a completely different taste. While the elegance of the traditional venue was fantastic at “ROYAL ALBERT HALL 2017 3RD NIGHT”, this work is full of outdoor openness. It’s like a “summer KRAFTWERK festival”. You can experience such a scene with super clear sound. Unfortunately, it is impossible to hope for a performance in Japan, but that’s why this work is a great way to enjoy the “summer of 2017” with the KRAFTWERK sound.
