Description

Following the news of the passing of original guitarist Ace Frehley in 2025, this tribute is presented here, recorded from one of the best audience master tapes available to date, capturing the band’s appearance at the New Year’s Eve event held at the Academy of Music in New York on December 31, 1973, before the release of their first album, “The One From Hell,” and before their official debut. This recording, taken from one of the band’s many club gigs after Ace joined the band, makes this a must-listen, vintage audience recording. The latter half of the recording also includes a promotional appearance on the popular New York radio show “Nightbird & Co. with Alison Steele” following the release of their debut album in 1974. This recording, transcribed from the original pre-FM broadcast, is of completely official quality, featuring 24 minutes of songs interspersed with interviews. 1. Deuce 2. Cold Gin 3.
