Description

KISS’s ambitious album “CRAZY NIGHTS” reached No. 18 in the US, their first chart since “DYNASTY,” and they were at the height of their no-makeup era in 1988. This rare footage allows you to experience a full show, packed with rare songs, in real time. This release features a performance in New York on August 13, 1988, capturing a scorching audience at the legendary club “The Ritz.” The “CRAZY NIGHTS Tour” is not only a memorable first visit to Japan in 10 years, but also the largest world tour of the no-makeup era. Reflecting this momentum, a flood of video masterpieces was produced. This is a great opportunity to take a look at their activities and their signature works. 1987 (“CRAZY NIGHTS” released on September 21st) November 13th – December 31st: North America #1 (31 performances) ← ※ PHILADELPHIA 1987 1988 January 1st – April 2nd: North America #2 (66 performances) April 16th – 24th: Japan (5 performances) ← ※ BUDOKAN 1988 2ND NIGHT July 4th: Swansea performance August 12th + 13th: New York (2 performances) ← ★ Here ★ August 16th – October 4th: Europe (23 performances) ← ※ MOR 1988 and others This is KISS in 1987 / 1988. The New York performance in this work was a warm-up club gig held before the European tour. The footage from that day also features as a Best Buy exclusive bonus for the official “KISSOLOGY VOLUME TWO,” but this work is something else entirely. Unlike the official version, which was a digest of just 11 songs, this is a 100% live audience shot taken throughout the full show. Not only is it different in length, but the shooting position is also completely different from the official version. While the official version was a long-distance single-camera shot from the back of the venue, this work is shot right in the middle of the arena. It’s a scorching hot video that truly captures the immersive feeling of being at the show. While it’s not exactly a spectacular view, with the arms of the front audience visible, the intensity of the close-ups on the members and the club’s enthusiasm far surpass the official version. While the official version (perhaps filmed for reference purposes) felt like it was shot from a distance, this work gives the intense feeling that Paul, Gene, and Bruce are “right in front of you,” and fans are eager to capture even the slightest close-up. Furthermore, the fans surrounding the photographer were excited with each song, and the joy of “I can see KISS in a club!” erupted from the monitors and speakers. What you can experience in such a club is a full show filled with rare songs that were cut from the official version. Let’s quickly organize the set while comparing them. 70s (10 songs) KISS: Deuce / Cold Gin / Black Diamond / Firehouse / Strutter (★) Others: Love Gun / Calling Dr. Love / Shout It Out Loud (★) / Rock And Roll All Nite (★) / Detroit Rock City (★) 80s (10 songs) CRAZY NIGHTS: Bang Bang You (★★) / No, No, No (★★) / Crazy Crazy Nights / Reason To Live (★★) Others: Fits Like A Glove / Heaven’s On Fire / War Machine / Tears Are Falling / I Love It Loud (★) / Lick It Up (★) *Note: Songs marked with a “★” are cut from the official version of “KISSOLOGY VOLUME TWO.” In particular, songs marked with a “★★” are exclusive to this tour. …And so it goes. The official version was approximately 46 minutes long, while this album is approximately 87 minutes long. Naturally, the sheer volume of tracks is overwhelming, but the content is also unmatched. The “CRAZY NIGHTS Tour” is famous for its many exclusive tracks not played on other tours, and the official version cut out the essential tracks “Bang Bang You,” “No, No, No,” and “Reason To Live.” Of course, this release delivers the full show, including those rare tracks. As you can see from the schedule above, the “CRAZY NIGHTS Tour” is a treasure trove of footage. Starting with the insider’s masterpiece “PHILADELPHIA 1987 MASTER VIDEO,” there are numerous other impressive pro-shots, including the classics “BUDOKAN 1988 2ND NIGHT” and “MONSTER OF ROCK GERMANY 1988 UPGRADE.” However, this release offers a truly priceless club experience. Experience the coveted, closed-door atmosphere 100% for yourself. This disc surpasses the official version in both length and intensity. It’s a different story from the official version of “KISSOLOGY VOLUME TWO,” a scorching audience shot from the August 13, 1988, performance at The Ritz. It’s a super-realistic video with a closed-door feel from the legendary club. This is a masterpiece of experiential shots, featuring a ton of tracks cut from the official version, including exclusive tracks like “Bang Bang You,” “No, No, No,” and “Reason To Live.” The Ritz, New York, NY, USA 13th August 1988 AMAZING SHOT!!! 1.
