Description

KISS’s first European tour, which is a special category even in the 1970s original members era. The legendary recording that has been passed down from the scene is being reprinted. This work is recorded in “London performance on May 16, 1976”. It is a legendary audience recording recorded at the famous venue “Hammersmith Odeon”. KISS has focused on their home country throughout their career, but especially in the 1970s. Peter Criss left in May 1980 and the original members collapsed, but let’s check out the overseas tours that were carried out up to that point. 1976: “DESTROYER Tour” May 13th – June 6th: Europe (17 performances) ←★Here★ 1977: “ROCK & ROLL OVER Tour” March 24th – April 4th: Japan #1 (10 performances) 1978: “ALIVE II Tour” March 28th – April 2nd: Japan #2 (5 performances) These are the overseas performances in the 1970s. During their golden age, KISS performed about 580 shows, of which only 32 were overseas. Still, there were 15 shows in one country, Japan, but only 17 shows in Europe across eight countries. You can see how rare the tour was. Moreover, they are not only rare, but also known for having many great recordings. Usually, the more performances there are, the more masterpieces there are, but the “European” tour of the 1970s is an exception. Perhaps that is why recordists all over the country were waiting so long for KISS. Anyway, we have archived as many masterpieces as possible at our shop, so let’s organize our collection by focusing on the dates here. Details of “Europe” ・May 13-15 (3 performances) *May 16: London performance ←★This work★ ・May 18 + 19 (2 performances) *May 22 “PARIS 1976 MASTER CASSETTE” *May 23 “AMSTERDAM 1976 MASTER TAPE” ・May 24-29 (4 performances) *May 30 “LUND 1976 MASTER CASSETTE” ・June 2-6 (4 performances) Such London performances (2nd day) have long been known for their famous recordings, and the LP bootleg “BLITZ LONDON” in particular has been passed down as a legendary masterpiece. This work digitizes such legendary recordings from mint quality records. It is one of the highest quality CDs. In fact, the sound is extremely clear and fresh. Although it is not the type that can be mistaken for a sound board like “PARIS 1976 (Zodiac 651)”, which has also symbolized the European tour with a long history, it is not far away. While the tone is engraved with the likeness of the audience, the core is quite powerful, and the performance sound and vocals approach the ears. There is no cloudiness or turbidity in the hall sound, the outline is clear and sharp, and even the fine details are very clear. In particular, Ace’s guitar has a strong sense of closeness as if it were a line recording. It is a pity that it is incomplete because it is a single analog record. From the set at that time, it seems that the bass / drum solo and “100,000 Years”, “Rock And Roll All Nite”, and “Let Me Go, Rock And Roll” are not included. Nevertheless, the passionate live performance that traveled far to Europe and the enthusiasm of the welcoming audience are beautifully engraved in this work. Why is “KISS in Europe in 1976” so special? This is a CD version of the storyteller LP “BLITZ LONDON” that has been spreading the word for a long time. The legendary sound that remains in the history of KISS recordings. Ultra-clear audience recording of the “May 16, 1976 Hammersmith performance”. This is a digitized version of the legendary LP bootleg “IMP 1120” from a mint quality record, and the sound is dazzling and fresh. The core is quite powerful, and the performance sounds and vocals come close to your ears. In particular, Ace’s guitar has a strong sense of closeness, as if it were a line recording. This is a storyteller that has been telling the story of why “KISS in Europe in 1976” is so special.
