Description

This work was filmed at the “Schweinfurt performance on August 27, 1988.” This is a multi-camera professional shot of the festival appearing in the West German version of MONSTERS OF ROCK. MONSTERS OF ROCK was born in Donington, England, but from 1983 they began to hold festivals in other countries, and in 1988 they expanded to a festival tour with 10 performances in 7 countries. It was held in two cities in West Germany: Schweinfurt and Bochum. KISS will appear as a semi-finalist after IRON MAIDEN. According to the schedule of “CRAZY NIGHTS TOUR” in the main commentary, this is the third performance of the “European” leg. The show was professionally filmed and broadcast on television. This work is a DVD version of the broadcast pro shot. Its quality is excellent. It’s hard to call it “official grade” by modern standards since it was an air check from the analog era, but if it was by the standards of the time, I’d like to say it with all my might. The most amazing thing is Master Freshness. Although the details of the gene have not been revealed, there are no dubbing marks as far as I can see on the screen. There is no white line noise or tape twisting, and the colors are vivid despite being over 30 years old. That is the beauty of the images, as if they were directly receiving the broadcast radio waves of the time. What is drawn with such quality is a healthy, gorgeous, no-makeup KISS performance. Although it is a slightly shorter set than the CD because it is a festival tour, the sense of concentration is overwhelming because of that. Now, let’s organize its contents. ●70’s (7 songs)・KISS: Cold Gin/Black Diamond/Deuce・DRESSED TO KILL: Rock And Roll All Nite・DESTROYER: Shout It Out Loud/Detroit Rock City・LOVE GUN: Love Gun ●80’s (6 songs )・CREATURES OF THE NIGHT: I Love It Loud・LICK IT UP: Fits Like A Glove・ANIMALIZE: Heaven’s On Fire・ASYLUM: Tears Are Falling・CRAZY NIGHTS: No, No, No/Crazy Crazy Nights…and this It looks like this. Although it is more compact than a CD, it has the same balance between the 70’s and 80’s. Four songs “Firehouse”, “Calling Dr. Love”, “Strutter”, and “Lick It Up” have been cut from the set that day, but you can still enjoy them for about an hour. And the performance that plays that set is dazzling. The set, lined with amplifiers arranged in a row, was simple but reminiscent of rock music, and the costumes were full of the glamor of LA metal at its peak. Bruce Kulick repeats technical phrases, and the late Eric Carr singing “Black Diamond” while shaking his black hair is also nostalgic. Paul and Gene also have sharp actions that do not rely on gimmicks, and they put on a lively show from the healthy, no-makeup era. And what makes this 80’s image even more appealing is the scene. This festival tour was held at a special outdoor venue, and since it is summer in Europe, the sun sets late. The KISS stage was always performing in bright sunlight, and the large audience in front of them was clearly visible. You can fully enjoy the spectacle of rocking furiously to the sea of people bouncing along to the beat. Exactly the climax. This is a multi-camera professional shot where you can stare at KISS for an hour, who created an era even in their no-makeup era. KISS in the 1980s drove crowds crazy with just their songs and performances, not stage gimmicks. Mainweisen, Schweinfurt, Germany 27th August 1988 PRO-SHOT(58:32) 1. Intro 2. Deuce 3. Love Gun 4.
