Description
KISS returned to the road in 1983 with the masterpiece “CREATURES OF THE NIGHT” and Vinnie Vincent. A new superb recording that allows you to fully experience the scene has been unearthed. This work is recorded at the “January 12, 1983 Quebec City Performance”. This is the best audience recording. Our shop has archived KISS throughout their career, and of course we have introduced as many masterpieces as possible during the precious Vinnie era. What is the position of this work in such a situation? Let’s unravel the schedule at that time. 1982 {October 13th “CREATURES OF THE NIGHT” released} {December: Vinnie Vincent joins} December 29-31st: North America #1a (3 shows) ←※ SIOUX CITY 1982 and others 1983 January 1st – February 4th: North America #1b (23 shows) ←★ HERE ★ February 11th – March 1st: North America #2 (12 shows) March 9th – April 3rd: North America #3 (15 shows) ←※ EL PASO 1983 and others June 18th – 25th: South America (3 shows) ←※ RIO DE JANEIRO 1983 {July “LICK IT UP” production begins} In October 1983, the “LICK IT UP Tour” began, heralding the beginning of the no-makeup era, but this work was the previous “CREATURES OF THE NIGHT Tour”. Although the tour kicked off at the end of 1982, the New Year ended with only three performances. This “North America #1b” is also a treasure trove of masterpieces, so let’s zoom in on the schedule. Details of “North America #1b” ・January 1st – February 4th (23 performances) *January 12th: Quebec ←★This work★ *January 13th “MONTREAL 1983” *January 14th “TORONTO 1983 SOUNDBOARD” ・January 1st – February 4th (23 performances) … and so on. There were powerful titles such as “TORONTO 1983 SOUNDBOARD” and “MONTREAL 1983”, but the Quebec performance of this work was just before that. It is a consecutive live album of three nights in a row. Of course, the three consecutive nights are just a coincidence, and the point is quality. This day is famous for its shoddy recording, but this work is completely different. This is an incredibly high quality. In fact, it is the work of the same recorder as “MONTREAL 1983”, but it goes several steps above that masterpiece. A clear core like a laser beam penetrates the center of the crystal clear air, and the fine details jump into your ears without clouding or turbidity. The bass, which tends to be either sparse or explosive in audience recordings, is captured firmly, and the groove created by them is delicious. And above all, it is beautiful. Not only “TORONTO 1983 SOUNDBOARD”, but many sound boards from this period are directly connected to the mix table, but this work is far more beautiful than such a powerful type of sound board. The sound is neat and fresh, and the ensemble is well-balanced in total. It is not mistaken for a sound board in terms of tone, but this work is more musically beautiful than a sound board directly connected to the table. In other words, it is a beautiful recording filled with the so-called “beauty of the audience only”. The full show of the “CREATURES OF THE NIGHT Tour” where the charm of the new KISS spills out with such a light sound is depicted. Finally, let’s organize the contents of the set. CREATURES OF THE NIGHT (4 songs) Creatures of the Night / I Love It Loud / War Machine / I Still Love You 70’s Classics (11 songs) KISS: Firehouse / Cold Gin / Black Diamond / Strutter DESTROYER: Detroit Rock City / God Of Thunder / Shout It Out Loud Others: Calling Dr. Love / I Want You / Love Gun / Rock And Roll All Nite The selection itself is the same as “TORONTO 1983 SOUNDBOARD”, but the order of the songs is different. “Firehouse” is shown early as the fourth song, while “Cold Gin” is played in the middle and “War Machine” in the latter half. It also includes “Strutter,” which was not heard in “MONTREAL 1983,” and the show configuration is all different despite being three consecutive nights. This work itself is an excellent live album, and by combining it with “MONTREAL 1983” and “TORONTO 1983 SOUNDBOARD,” you can see how the set is rapidly refined. Even so, it’s amazing that such a great recording has not been known for over 40 years. It boasts sound quality that is comparable to a direct-connected soundboard, and is a shocking new masterpiece that even surpasses in beauty and listening. A superb audience recording of the “January 12, 1983 Quebec City performance.” This is a master recording unearthed by our own route, and is completely different from the shobo recordings that have been known up until now. A clear core like a laser beam penetrates the center of the crystal clear, transparent atmosphere, and the fine details jump into your ears without any cloudiness or turbidity. This new masterpiece allows you to fully experience the “CREATURES OF THE NIGHT Tour” with a sound that surpasses SBD in beauty and listening experience.
