Description

King Diamond made a comeback in 2003 with “THE PUPPET MASTER,” acclaimed as “the greatest masterpiece since THE EYE” and “the greatest masterpiece of the 21st century.” This superb video, which could be called a video version of the classic live album “DEADLY LULLABYES,” is here. This work was filmed at the Montreal performance on November 5, 2003. This is a powerful audience shot. The official live album “DEADLY LULLABYES” was produced from the “THE PUPPET MASTER Tour,” but it was an edited work compiled from records of the entire tour, not a specific live performance. In contrast, this work is a type of video work that allows you to experience one performance in full. First, let’s explore this work’s position by summarizing their activities at the time.・October 18th-20th: USA (3 shows) {“THE PUPPET MASTER” released on October 21st} ・October 23rd-November 2nd: USA (7 shows) ・November 4th-5th: Canada (2 shows) ←★here★ ・November 6th-22nd: USA (12 shows) A whole host of super close-up shots from another dimension This is King Diamond in 2003. King’s main battlefield is Europe, but this tour was limited to North America. The Montreal performance in this film was one of only two Canadian shows, and it was the 12th concert, which was the halfway point of the tour. This vacuum-packed film from the scene is a superb video with three great features: a powerful close-up, easy-to-see stability, and ultra-high image quality. The bold zoom is super powerful! From the angle, it’s shot from the second floor seats on the left side of the stage, looking down, but then zoom in! Zoom!! Zoom! At its closest, the camera zooms in so intensely that the screen is filled with just a close-up of King’s expression. Naturally, since he gets so close, all the other audience members are out of frame. Even though he’s not even in the front row, it’s a hijacked shot that forcibly monopolizes the show. With such a forceful zoom, you might worry about image quality and stability, but this film is amazing because there’s no need to worry about that. Despite the ultra-zoom, the image quality remains ultra-high, even down to the finest details, and there’s no camera shake even when the camera is moved left and right. The more you zoom in, the more the perspective changes, even if you change the angle slightly. However, this film maintains the ultra-zoom, remaining perfectly stable as it follows the King as he moves around. If this were cutting-edge footage from 2025, it would make sense due to the performance of the equipment, but this is footage from over 20 years ago. At first glance, you’re impressed and impressed by how beautiful it is, but it’s also a mysterious image that makes you wonder how it was filmed. Conceptual Christmas Set This super-powerful shot depicts the full show of “THE PUPPET MASTER Tour,” which was a long-awaited masterpiece. Roughly speaking, the set is the same as “DEADLY LULLABYES,” but let’s recap. First Half (7 songs): Abigail: A Mansion In Darkness / The Family Ghost / Black Horsemen; Abigail II (The Revenge): Mansion In Sorrow / Spirits; Others: Eye Of The Witch / Sleepless Nights; Second Half (9 songs): The Puppet Master: The Puppet Master / Blood To Walk / So Sad / Living Dead; Others: Welcome Home / The Invisible Guests / Burn; Fatal Portrait: Halloween / No Presents For Christmas… and so on. While it doesn’t recreate a specific album, the world changes completely between the first and second halves of the show. The first half of the set roughly traces the story of the “ABIGAIL” and “ABIGAIL II” albums, concluding with “Eye of the Witch” and “Sleepless Nights.” The second half then unfolds with four new songs from the new album “THE PUPPET MASTER.” The set concludes with “Welcome Home,” followed by a barrage of classics. The second encore, in particular, features two consecutive “FATAL PORTRAIT” tracks. Since the show took place in November, the band reaches a grand finale with a wave of “Halloween,” which has just finished, and “No Presents For Christmas,” which is about to begin. The set closes with “No Presents For Christmas,” in which the band members also dress up in Santa costumes. What a sinister, heavy metal Christmas! There’s no better video for this season. A powerful audience shot from the “November 5, 2003 Montreal performance.” The bold zoom is super powerful, zooming in so close that the screen fills with just a close-up of King’s face. And yet, even at the closest, the image remains stable and ultra-high quality. This heavy metal video is perfect for the Christmas season, digesting the worlds of the “ABIGAIL” and “ABIGAIL II” series and the masterpiece “THE PUPPET MASTER,” culminating with a double-barreled performance of “Halloween” and “No Presents For Christmas.” Club Soda, Montreal, QC, Canada 5th November 2003 AMAZING SHOT!!!! 1.
