Description

Super rare and rare title appears for the first time! Reproduction of the classic work “Arbor Zena” recorded in October 1975 by Keith, all composed by piano, Charlie Haden on bass, Jan Garbarek on tenor and soprano, and the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by Mladen Gutesha. Rather, it is an enlarged version (complete version?) that is about twice as long as the previous version (complete version?), which is a 90-minute long version of the original, well-regarded label’s original and careful performance of the spectacular performance at Gratz, Austria in November 1975, the month after the album was recorded. A complete 2-disc set with remastered ultra-high quality sound is now available! As with the album “Arbor Zena,” Hayden and Garbarek will be joined by a string section called “Cappella Classica” conducted by Alois J. Hochstrasser in this concert entitled “Compositions for Soloists & Strings.” , In the first part, they performed a medley of over 40 minutes including “Runes” and “Solara March” from “Arbor Zena”. In the second part, three songs are performed for 46 minutes: an unreleased number not included in “Arbor Zena”, “Mirrors” from “Arbor Zena”, and “Solara March” in the encore. Additionally, the bonus track includes over 10 minutes of improvisation by the trio of Keith, Gus Nemeth and Paul Motian in their short but first appearance at Oslo in 1969, as well as that “Cologne” encore number (eh! )’s trio version, a rare interview with Keith is also additionally recorded on a high-quality sound board!
