Description
“KILLING MACHINE/HELL BENT FOR LEATHER TOUR 1979” jumped out of the “HARD ROCK” field and became the moment when “HEAVY METAL” was born. The soundboard album will be released! This work is a local CBS radio station, KZOK RADIO STATION, that broadcast the “October 17, 1979 Seattle” performance, which they had just started headlining in the United States. This is a live show that was once released as “TAKE ON THE WORLD”. In the previous release, the pitch was too fast and the treble was too loud, but this work uses a master with the correct pitch and upgraded sound. Finished with a 2CD version containing the full scale broadcast. This tour includes not only the historical masterpiece “UNLEASHED IN THE EAST” but also the sound board live “UNLEASHED IN NEW YORK (Zodiac 039)” on March 11th, but the point of this work is that Dave Holland just did it. After this, it is the first sound board recording completed by the golden age JUDAS PRIEST, which conquered the whole world for about 9 years until “MERCENARIES OF METAL TOUR 1988”. Later, SKID ROW’s Sebastian Bach also said, “UNLEASHED IN THE EAST was shocking,” but the famous album was released on September 17th, about a month before this work. In other words, it was after Holland was replaced that America first found success. In fact, Holland’s drums are suited to America, and whereas Les Binks’s drums were sharp and violent, Holland’s beats focused on stability, and his groove pulled the show forward. You can fully enjoy the more dynamic ensemble with the in-ear sound of the broadcast sound source. The set list focuses on songs suitable for Holland and America, and the opening song is “Hell Bent For Leather” instead of “Exiter”. The other songs will also be the standard songs that will take the world by storm in subsequent live performances. Having said that, “White Heat, Red Hot” and “Take On The World” cannot be heard on “UNLEASHED IN THE EAST”, and “Delivering The Goods” and “Starbreaker” are also valuable Holland versions. Comparing it with Les Binks on “UNLEASHED IN THE EAST” and “UNLEASHED IN NEW YORK”, it’s fun for maniacs to find out his favorite drumming. With the arrival of Holland, JUADS PRIEST has finally solidified its lineup for world domination. Their strong rhythm became the basis of their aggressiveness and led to BRITISH STEEL’s declaration of being a metal god. The 1970s repertoire revived with a steel foundation. This work is not only the first step in the world invasion, but also a record of stepping out from the “HARD ROCK” field to “HEAVY METAL”, and it is also a hint to decipher the transition.
