Description
JUDAS PRIEST’s super-determined soundboard, which is considered one of the highest sound quality in the history of sound sources, is back! This work is a companion to the controversial work “TURBO”… Oops, if you were trying to skip this part, it’s still too early! There’s no harm in just reading it, so please stay with me a little longer… Yes, “TURBO” is a controversial pop piece. Moreover, since that tour is also included in the official album “PRIEST…LIVE!”, you might think that it is not underground’s turn. However, the quality of this work is so perfect that you should listen to it even if you press it. The performance, sound, mix, everything is professional, and it can be officially released as is…or should I say, it’s better than the official “PRIEST…LIVE!”. I say that because “PRIEST…LIVE!” is actually a compilation album that combines multiple performances. The main part from the LP and early CD was a combination of “June 15th Atlanta Performance” and “June 27th Dallas Performance”, and was an incomplete version that did not give the full details of the concert. After that, an expanded version was released in the remaster series, but this one is even better. What was added as a bonus included songs that were completely unrelated to the venue or year. Suddenly, 1982’s “Screaming for Vengeance” and 1984’s “Rock Hard, Ride Free” pop out in the encore mood that got excited with “You’ve Got Another Thing Comin'”… No, I was happy to be able to hear such a great song, but what about “Locked In” that I was supposed to play? What about “Desert Plains”? No matter how much it overlaps with “IN THE EAST,” it’s still “Victim Of Changes” and “Green Manalishi (with The Two-Pronged Crown)…” and I want to say a few things. It was a rough job. In that respect, this work is an unmistakable live performance, “May 22, 1986 Kansas performance” that can be heard on the sound board. What’s more, it packs a freshness that is completely different from “PRIEST…LIVE!”, which had strangely arranged sounds but was covered with unnatural loud cheers. JUDAS PRIEST continues to create popular and controversial works over and over again, but people always say, “But their live performances are amazing.” Its true value clearly shows that 1986 is no exception. The number “TURBO” that can be heard from this work is certainly pop. However, JUDAS PRIEST’s pop refers to live “boarding songs.” If you remember why “Living After Midnight” and “You’ve Got Another Thing Comin’” do not give up the climax of the live performance, you will understand. I’m not saying it’s comparable to those songs, but “Locked In”, “Private Property”, and “Turbo Lover” all demonstrate their true value live. If you like “TURBO” and “PRIEST…LIVE!”, this work, where you can enjoy the original version, is recommended without any questions asked. However, even if you don’t, please listen to this work and then give your evaluation of “JUDAS PRIEST of 1986”. Live at Municipal Auditorium, Kansas City, MO. USA 22nd May 1986 STEREO SBD Disc 1 1.
