Description
JOURNEY’s complete reproduction of “ESCAPE” and “FRONTIERS” at Nippon Budokan is still fresh in our memory. They’ve done it again! Currently, JOURNEY is on a US tour, but only three of the shows performed the entirety of the two masterpieces. This work is a “sound report” that captures the pattern with the best sound. This is an audience album from the “May 17, 2017 Las Vegas performance”. First, let’s organize the shows where “ESCAPE” and “FRONTIERS” were performed in their entirety. ・February 7, 2017: Nippon Budokan (complete reproduction) ・May 3, 2017: First day of Las Vegas (complete reproduction) ・May 10, 2017: Fourth day of Las Vegas (all songs performed) ・May 17, 2017: Seventh day of Las Vegas (all songs performed) A total of four times. In fact, from May 3rd to 20th, 2017, they held a huge event of seven consecutive performances at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, and all the songs were performed on the Wednesday performances (first, fourth, and seventh days). The last performance, the seventh day, is included in this work. The quality of this work is a wonderful audience sound. It is a little different from the type that is called “like a sound board,” but the clear, solid core and beautiful, thick sound are wonderful enough to kick out poor line recordings. The touch of the piano and the details of the singing voice that reaches straight through are fine, and no matter how much enthusiasm there is, it does not become muddy or cloudy. The scene, “THE JOINT,” is a hall of about 4,000 people at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, but since it is almost exclusively operated by rock, the acoustics are excellent for rock sound. It is a famous recording that is full of flavor. The wonderful sound of the performance of all the songs on “ESCAPE” and “FRONTIERS” is depicted… and the point here is that “complete reproduction” and “full performance” are used subtly. As mentioned in the above schedule, in fact, the “first day” at Nippon Budokan and Las Vegas “reproduced” “ESCAPE” → “FRONTIERS” in the order of the songs on the album, but “the fourth day” and “the seventh day (this work)” are different. Although the song order is free like a normal concert, all the songs on the two great masterpieces are played. Don’t be fooled and think “What, it’s not a reproduction…” This is really the best. It’s been a long time since “famous album reproduction shows” became a standard in the rock world, but the “reproduction show” has the same song order, so you can read ahead. Although the album you listened to over and over flashes back, “Next is XX”, “Is there another â–³ song”, “The B side is a bit of a downer”, etc. cross your mind. However, while this work is full of super masterpieces from super masterpieces, the albums “ESCAPE” and “FRONTIERS” are shuffled between them, so you can’t tell what’s coming next. It doesn’t get you excited at the beginning with “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)” and then cool down after that. And yet, there are plenty of masterpieces that you can’t hear at regular concerts, including the extremely rare “Troubled Child”. The Japanese performances were divided into “Greatest Hits Day” and “Complete Reproduction Day”, but this work allows you to enjoy both in one. This live album has a special feeling of all the songs from the two great masterpieces, and a wonderful “flow” similar to a regular concert. I would like you to experience the tremendous effect of this work… No, it’s not a concept album, but it’s a masterpiece that I would like all bands who are “reproduction performances” to hear. A special and highly complete show that fans all over the world would want. This is a film that contains the whole story. Live at the Joint at Hard Rock Hotel, Las Vegas, NV.
