Description
Also known as the Tough Tenors, Eddie Lockjaw Davis and Johnny Griffin were two tenor quintets who shone brightly in the jazz world in the early 60s. This live performance at the Blue Note in New York on November 18, 1983 was recorded in full on high quality stereo soundboard audio. It is a familiar tenor battle, and both have a strong blues feeling and big tone, and their combination is fully demonstrated in the live performance, and the performance at the Blue Note on this day was also wonderful. You can enjoy the live performance of Lockjaw Davis and Griffin in their prime with high quality sound. DISC 1 SET 1 1. Rifftide (08:46) 2. Good Bait (11:10) 3. Lover Man (16:24) 4.
