Description
Three discs of unreleased sessions recorded privately at jazz pianist Bob Conford’s apartment the year before he released his first album as a leader, “Extrapolation”, with over 3 hours of astonishing A-grade sound quality. A must-have treasure recording for fans has been released. Bob Conford is the first album released in 1969, produced by Kenny Wheeler, a famous trumpet and flugelhorn player from Canada who is based in the UK, and conducting the John Dankworth Orchestra, of which he was a member. He participated in the leader’s album “Windmill Tilter” as a piano player and is said to be his first album. In addition, John McLaughlin also participated in that album, so it is assumed that the two have been friends for quite some time. The music, played by McLaughlin’s acoustic guitar and Bob Conford’s piano, is inspired by the duo, and includes “This Is For” from McLaughlin’s first album, “Extrapolation.” “Us to Share”, Bill Evans’ “Interplay”, “What is Love?”, and even “Nardis” are performed. There is also a play reminiscent of Juango Reinhardt, and although the sound source was privately recorded half a century ago, its delicate and beautiful sound is recorded here without fading.Enjoy the historical excavation sound source to the fullest.
