This compilation includes rare mixes and rehearsal takes from the recording of 1974’s “The Walls of the Heart. The Bridges of Love,” all in master quality and with soundboard recordings. This album is one of John’s masterpieces, along with his first US No. 1 hit, the single “Run Through Midnight,” which he performed with Elton John. While the string arrangements may seem excessive now, the album features beautiful melodies and fully expresses John’s worldview. This compilation includes rehearsal sessions, outtakes, rough mixes, monitor mixes, and more. The monitor mixes, which are often included in the recording, are different from the normal stereo mix, and not only are the separations (sound positioning) different, but also the balance of vocals and instruments, and even the length of the takes and songs, allowing you to see the subtle differences.
