Description

A 3-disc set covering all of John Lennon’s live performances will be released! Speaking of John’s collector’s items, his vast studio works have been released under many titles, starting with the Lost Lennon series, but when it comes to live recordings, there have been very few releases, even in the CD era. However, this work is the first comprehensive live chronicle, and if you have this, you won’t need any later releases. Since John’s career was short, he didn’t perform live very often, and this 3-disc set covers almost all of them. Let’s take a look at the contents. First, disc 1 contains “Yer Blues” and “Whole Lotta Yoko” from the Rock and Roll Circus performance on December 11, 1968, as well as “Yer Blues” from the rehearsal on December 10, the day before. And the performance on Frank Zappa’s stage on June 6, 1971 is not only a different mix from the official recording, but also an unedited long version, allowing you to listen to the performance on that day uncut. In particular, the official version has omitted the song itself from the remastered version, which increases the value of the complete version recorded here. Next is the live performance at John Sinclair Aid on December 10, 1971. “Sisters O Sisters” is recorded for the first time on a collector’s CD. The David Frost show on December 16, 1971 includes all five songs. The New York City anthem, which also features David Peel, gives a sense of the liberal atmosphere of the time. Finally, two songs from the live performance at the Attica State Benefit. Disc 2 contains the entire live performance at the Mike Douglas show. From the rare “It’s So Hard” to the collaboration with his idol Chuck Berry “Memphis Tennessee” and “Johnny B Goode”. It’s cute to see John singing shyly in praise of his great senior. Yoko performs the Japanese song “Sakura Sakura”. The last song on Disc 2 is the August 30, 1972 One to One Concert. It is known that this day was divided into two parts, day and night, and the official recording is mainly from the day part, but here seven songs are recorded from the night part with the same quality sound board. John had a habit of singing by changing the way he sang and the lyrics, so it will sound fresh to ears accustomed to the official. In particular, the last song “Give Peace A Chance” is one of the highlights, as it is an uncut full-length version with all the performers participating. Disc 3 is a charity concert for muscular dystrophy patients, and the film of this show is strictly managed by Yoko, and is only released at events, not as a collector’s video, but for some reason only the sound source has been leaked on the sound board like this. Next is the performance when John and Yoko, who were separated, jumped into Elton John’s concert on November 28, 1974, which was the trigger for their reconciliation. The sound source at this time has also been released officially, so it is recorded here with high quality audience recording. Next are “Stand By Me” and “Slippin And Slidin” from the Old Grey Whistle Show recorded in March 1975. There are three versions of this due to differences in broadcast, but all of them are recorded. You can enjoy the slight differences before and after the song as well as the different mixes. John’s last stage was Salute to Sir Lew Grade on April 18, 1975. The show was held at the Hilton Hotel in New York, and it is also famous for the presence of Mark Chapman in the audience. This show was recorded with the audience and soundboard. In addition to the songs “Slippin And Slidin'” and “Imagine” that were broadcast, you can also listen to “Stand By Me”, which was omitted from the broadcast, from the miraculously preserved audience source from that day. A complete compilation of John’s live performances during his short career! A 3-disc set that is unrivaled among Beatles material! The Complete Live Lennon Tapes!
