Description
This nearly complete recording of the October 8th San Diego concert, from the North American tour following the release of Page’s 1988 solo album “Outsider,” spans 1 hour and 58 minutes, captured from the original audience master by Marco Mohr, a legendary California taper active from the mid-’80s to early ’90s, roughly the same time as Mike Millard. Recorded from an original master owned by this legendary California taper, who was active from the mid-’80s to early ’90s, this recording was previously unavailable in the trade, but was recently released by a renowned collector, restoring these precious live recordings to high-quality audio tape. The quality of the recordings is almost on par with the Millard tapes. Incidentally, no one, including Millard, has ever recorded this performance, making this a rare recording never before released in Japan. The live performance, centered around tracks from the album, was in perfect form, as Page had been throughout this tour, and he was in top form again on this day. There was also an incident in the middle of the show when the guitar stopped working during “Someone To Love,” and the final song, “Stairway to Heaven,” was an instrumental song that led to a chorus from the audience, making for some of the highlights you can only hear at a live concert.
